In yesterdays show, I mentioned that I’d post photos of the Xbox 360 HD-DVD Dashboard interface and how you’ll be able to control two drives. Those images are now posted over at the Gamerscore blog Note: these are not final and subject to change.
Good and simple idea for dashboard control of the HD-DVD drive. Seems like a quick and easy way to be able to eject and close the drives and see what's in each disc drive.
I also wonder one thing about the HD-DVD drive. Will it read CDs or DVDs? If so, will it be able to show the data on the dashboard like if the disc was in the 360's DVD drive? Because if it can, people could then burn their music collection to a DVD and put it in the HD-DVD drive and listen to their music from the disc while playing a game. That would be a extra, small but helpful feature that would add to the 360's media capabilities.
Nice. Can't wait to buy one.
Pretty cool!
Sounds pretty nice and easy to use. I wish I had an HDTV even more now...
Cool as a block of icecream!

WE NEED a magic packet to be sent when accessing the 'Music' or 'Pictures' options on the media blade.
It works for MCX mode but not for the above options.
Seems fine, but I am still waiting for the name of the movie or game to show on the dashboard. Come on big bad coders.
What about the remote. When you press eject, which one will eject? Will we now need "SLI" remotes?
To Reality's question, I am sure they will add an option for that in the dashboard to select which drive you want to eject or, it can have an option that when you press the eject button, a thing can come up asking which drive you want to eject. We don't know what their going to do with that yet.
Will you be able to play game DVDs with the HD-DVD drive?
It would be cool to be able to have 2 games in one Xbox 360 at the same time!
Very slick!
Is it just me or does it look like a Pokéball?
To the handful of people who think this is "awesome", please explain why, lol.
i thought they would have just stuck another bar underneath the DVD Tray bar, but this one looks much better than i anticipated.
i agree with what warriorsan says, having the other drive act as a CD player while ingame would be really cool!
Honestly, I really can not think of a good reason to get the hd-dvd player - and Ive tried! . My current DVD player has fantastic picture quality and if no games are coming out on HD-DVD for the 360 well then ...ya see where Im going. Plus it would be a daunting process to repurchasing my DVD LIBRARY. I guess what it comes down to is: if there are additions to the 360 that will improve my gaming exp. then Ill get it - if not then I wont.
Always the truth!
can't wait awesome i would be cool if you could run a cd at the same time in the drive.
Soundwave 1540, Thats why the drive wasn't forced on you and left as an option otherwise your 360 would have cost the same as a PS3... Some people will want to move in to HD and some won't.
looks like a Pokeball!
