What's up with all the expensive DLC in the past few days? It seems like the developers are leaving stuff out of the games to charge more for them.

EA could of put this in the full game, but they've decided to rip-off gamers instead. EA appear to be the only publishers who are openly abusing not only Gamerscore, but also online aspects and hawking stuff on Marketplace which should ship with the game itself. Shocking.

You guys have to understand that the more people that download these things, the more they'll keep doing this. I can't see how people would download the stadiums for Madden at $2 a pop. Just don't dload them and they'll return to being unlockable. As for this, it's a little different. I don't ever remember a hightlight reel feature before. They obviously have had save replay in years past, but if you can put your own track over the whole clip and what not, then that's pretty cool. But again, should be something in the game at launch, but in this case it's more plausable than with EA and Madden cause it's a new feature.

I am not happy with this. This is an editor, something a game should come with at retail. Imagine having to buy the Unreal level editor like this. Or Half-Life 2 Source (which might happen...). But this is a sports title, so that means the sheep will bleat and more crap like this will keep coming because you sports fans keep letting EA (and now 2K it seems) rape you. For all this content that has come out, how about some G0D D@mn PATCHES for the titles? You know, a Saints Row patch, a Madden patch that actually works (the fatigue doesn't seem fixed in M07 does it?), a better Prey patch, etc. Used to be content came after a stable, intact build was produced; not the other way around. Now half a$$ the title, slam it to retail, MAYBE do some code cleanup afterward. Go have a latte with the Dreamworks guys. Usually this kind of behavior is EA's bastard child. Seeing 2K Sports do this is kind of sad and embarassing. But to their credit, it is a FUNCTIONAL piece of content; something to CREATE something unique. Unlike a STADIUM, which costs only 100 points LESS than this editor. And you think this sucks just for sports? LUMMINES LIVE is coming, and that is going to really show us just where certain companies' priorities lie. It will not be pretty. And remember, core gamers will hit a breaking point. Some higher-up somewhere is going to get this "great" idea about content and will totally miss the point because they themselves DON'T GAME. People like that view gamers as advanced children, and can be sujected to the same idiotic assumptions. Which last about as long as it takes for me to get in your face and tell you to F**K OFF. Because I AM older, and I don't use the money the same way a 12 year would. No FUBU here. Do the higher-ups actually read these posts you past along Major? If so, let them write something for this blog. I have not seen that yet because Maker forbid there isn't MTV and multiple cameras and hype. Nope, just people who know how it worked once and how it worked JUST FINE too. Accountibility - because the only place it still counts is in the money we spend.

I'm hearing that this ReelMaker download is a very small file which implies that the actual editor is on the game disc and this is a "key" that unlocks it. I'm not against paying for extra content that is released AFTER the game is finished but it's quite something else to pay for something that is already on the disc, the disc you've just bought for £50! I'm not interested in this download anyway but it's the principle of the think that gets me. We recently had LEGO Star Wars II on the 360 which required you to pay 200 points for a key to unlock 50 characters that are already on the game disc. Paying 200 points to unlock them straight away is OK if you want them but despite being on the disc there is no way to unlock them through playing the game. To me this kind of downloadable content is akin to buying a house and finding out that one room is locked requiring you to pay extra if you want to use it!

What the heck? Although EA has been rolling out the overpriced DLC lately, at least they wait for a while after release to create the illusion that they created the content after the fact. This is clealy something that was held out of the game in order to charge consumers extra. Disgusting.
