Xbox Live's Major Nelson

Wireless Headset issues?

I spoke to the accessories team regarding the feedback from some members who have experienced issues while using the Xbox 360 Wireless Headset, including difficulty syncing the headset to the console, reception interference and audio sensitivity. The team wanted to let you know they are committed to providing the highest quality accessories for Xbox 360 and they would like to assist in troubleshooting and resolving those issues, whether by replacing or repairing the units under warranty. If you are experiencing any of these issues with the Wireless Headset please call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX (or your local support line.)

Edit: Made a couple of additions.

I'm sure this will please a lot of people. I might even buy one myself if the problems get fixed.

"including difficulty syncing the headset to the controller" You mean to the console right?

Why can't they do the troubleshooting before releasing the product? They had a year head-start from launch to make these things, repairing and/or replacing is worthless when I spent the money I did on this headset just to have to send it back and wait one to two weeks. What happened to good business practice? It seems like Microsoft and Sony are just in a race to see who can release what fastest, rather than testing the equipment to standard and then releasing.

Says it all really. I've no idea how this thing was tested but it must have been done poorly. I reviewed the product upon receiving it and loved it. Later on that day after 4hrs, I received my first complain in CoD3. Now upon going into games without the headset, I can actually hear the mad feedback from others who are using it, and it makes the game unbearable.

They didn't seem to be committed to a high quality product before it was released now were they?

I appreciate the support that Microsoft gives, I really do; and in general I love the 360... but you've got to understand that from the consumer's perspective, it is horrible to have to send defective equipment back. If you're going to keep doing this, consumers are going to stop buying your hardware until they are proven to be up-to-snuff, like Phaethon360 said above.

Yes, I said "keep doing this." Becuase my console has been sent back, and it sounds like I need to send this back. I'm wondering if I should have called about the d-pad on both of my controllers as well... forgive the tone of this post, I'm simply trying to say that this kind of experience adds up over time, and it isn't adding up to the experience you want your consumer to have.

Glad to hear this also.  There definitely needs to be a sensitivity option, I can't play a game online without constantly muting the mic, unless I turn my stereo all the way down to the point where I can't hear anything.  I've had a few of the sync problems too where the sound just switches from the headset to my stereo speakers and then back again.

Thanks Major!

@Momo Hemo

No, there is a problem out there that doesn't let a headset sync with an older type of wireless controller.

Having paid 55 Dollars for the headset

(yes in Europe we are being abused for price. The games are usually around 88 Dollars).. I find this product to be next to useless..

Mic too sensitive.

Mic position wrong

Range of the device is <5 ft. in a standard house.

As a previous post said why are we buying this crap that has not been tested properly.

And while I am on a roll....

The live servers are crap on some games (Splinter CEll)

Support know nothing about resolving..

Two friends who cannot talk in game to each other.

Two friends who cannot join each others hosted games even though we can join a third party..

Roll on PS3......which is to be released here in March.
