Here are some intersting stats for MajorNelson.com that occured in 2006:
During this period there were 13,005,229 unique views on 284 individual blog posts, with 25,129 comments on those posts. Note that in April of 2006 we switched our blog platform to Community Server, so views before that date were not counted; but comment counts were not affected by the switch. I wish more popular blogs would share their numbers, don’t you?Special thanks to Litheon who did all the data mining.
Wow.....that is amazing. Keep up the good work Major.
Hey, thanks for sharing the numbers. I never see anyone share their numbers. Its good to see someone does.
I'm surprised that many people have a 1080p TV
Wow. The demo for 99 Nights was massively discussed. So why didn't more people buy it or at least rent it? Was it because it lacked multiplayer or was it just the hot topic of the season? If so, that sucks cause that game is awesome. Every single MGS title so far has been awesome even the ones with average scores in my opinion.
Rock On Major. Happy New Year
I am proud to say that if you look through those topics, I have a post in just about all of them. It is pleasing to know that I stay on the cusp of things.
HaHa
All kidding aside, this data only makes the 2007 bar much higher. That and the Major is "one of the top 10 most important console people" and that means you can't cruise on what 2006 did now. 2007 is here and the all the consoles are out now.
Now-Gen is going to see some really messed up things this year. But we are also going to see some neat things as well.
To 2007 - may it be a good year.
Xbox 360 - Because you shouldn't take 12 shots of hard liquor and try to play Wii... Bad, bad idea...
PS - What the F**K were they thinking about with that DOAX2 store? If that shows up in DOA5 I will personally take that bottle of his desk...

It is German but you will see what I am talking about.
How on earth did 99 Nights get the most comments lol?
I thought the most commented thread would be the one where the Oblivion Horse Armour was released. Everyone went rant crazy on that lol
well done guys on all the useful comments.......aprt from the "FIRST" ONES.............
impressive. you are THE source for information. that can be a good thing...and that can be a bad thing. But you know that already. Looking forward to 2007, which will easily be the greatest year in gaming. 2007 will be the year of the 360, with exclusives to drool for. Happy New Year!!!
Damm 13 million since april, i can just imagine what its going to like next year.
Good luck!
Very cool statistics Major. Thanks for sharing them with us and keep up the good work!
Impressive. Most impressive.
Great work on the data mining, litheon. Interesting to see how 2007 will go, because now, it's all about the games. It seems there's only 1 key feature missing from Xbox Live.
Very cool, def. something that should be a staple in the Major Blog
Next you need to list the top 10 comments made on these posts. My guess?
1. M$ LIED TO US!!
2. MN STOP LYING TO US!!
3. WE KNOW YOU HAVE THE PREY DEMO! STOP LYING TO US!
4. YOU BETTER RELEASE (insert title here) because (insert console here) IS COMMING OUT AND THEN YOU'LL HAVE SOME REAL COMPETITION.....prey demo plz.
anything halo relatied is always towards the top of any list, in this case is posts. crazy. happy new year major.
Those are some amazing numbers Major. Keep up the great work keeping everyone informed.
Good to see the "1080p Fix" so high... The "fix" that bricked a bunch of consoles, including mine ;)
Would be nice if MS at least acknowledged the problems, and made an official statement about it or something.
Anyway, congratulations on the number of visitors MN, and thanks for a great year =)
lol, my blog gets like 100+ hits a week and that kinda makes me feel proud....but 50 of the included views are RSS feeds....:(
Majornelson.com is the prime source for anything Xbox related!
amazing stats, pretty interesting
Thanks for the stats, Major. You too, Litheon. Behind the scenes, you probably go unnoticed sometimes. ;) Happy new year everyone. Here's to another awesome year. :D
I once got four comments on a blog post. *flexes*
my fav posts are the ones of upcoming release like the arcade wednesday calender and on my mn.com profile it says im POST RANK #2 thats a cool feature too (i wonder whos first???)
Interesting, those are some prety big numbers. Keep it up MN!!
I'm surprised that the #1 comments post wasn't the registration-related one. There were so many test comments to see how the comment outlines looked. Just shows you how busy the site is, and how much more 'vocal' people are when they aren't pleased.
