Um.. It has only been one week of misses on the XBLA this time. You said two like 3 times.
It looks like this Heavy weapon, miss, miss, rootbeer, paperboy, miss, then this week.
Meanwhile, less than a game a week "average" will always equal unhappy fans no matter how many times you guys attempt to roll back expectations now.
We have only seen 28 games in the last 52 weeks. BTW, I am not a school kid either. Just in case you want to make any more assumptions about why people are "reacting".
Fact is the dissapointment is growing, and this causes us to beceom less and less patient, and more volitile when bad news and goofy bad video jokes from MS employees pop up.
Finally Major Nelson you got a Wii!
Hey Major, Alien Hominid is a great addition to XBLA, but do you have any info about when we are likely to see Worms? I know you probably keep getting 'trolled' about this, but I thought this was supposed to be out around GDC time?
I can not wait for Worms to drop, i wasted my youth playing that game, and can't wait to waste my adulthood too ;)

I haven't had a chance to listen to this one yet Major, but do you think you'd be able to convince the CDown team to release the orb sound effects on their Audio page?
I can think of quite a few good applications for them ;)
I'm still listening to it right now, and I LOVE that this guy is calling out the worst videogame site on the internet (IGN). Awesome! The sound on Crackdown is something that caught me right when I started playing it too, I've always been sensitive to audio and Crackdown just feels alive. Great job.
Good cast, excepting the XBLA leadoff.
I thought only politicians revisited previous notions/concepts to suit their current needs... Sure, technically we don't see anything in that PR indicating that a game will come out each and every Wednesday - though the phrase "...a regular launch schedule of new Xbox Live Arcade titles on the Xbox 360." does imply, um, REGULARITY. Also implies a release is considered a 'new title', which would exclude new card decks or patches. Including a weekly schedule in said release probably helped set expectations right at the get-go for a rate that couldn't be met. Dead horse? Maybe, but I'm not sure the fault regarding the "misinterpretation" lies with the community...
Nice to see a chat with an XBLA game developer though, nice work. Maybe get a good interview or three with the cert folks so folks have better visibility into MS' end of the quality bar enforcement. The GSBlog 'cast this week was pretty sharp as well - best they've done yet, I think.
What is the average number of downloads for your blogcast?
I picked up the wireless xbox 360 receiver for the PC and it works great.
Use it for World of Warcraft/Ventrilo and I con't have to have a seperate headset for the PC and the 360.
My only beef is that there's no seperate channel for game sound and voice chat. Everything comes through the headset. Hopefully MS will be able to get seperate channel going for the headset and game audio.
Alien Hominid was an ok game.... last year... on the PS2.... for five minutes. Wasn't exactly a hit game, and throwing HD in front of it doesn't exactly scream "High Definition".
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I noticed in a few reviews the audio was panned, I gotta agree with that, the music was lacking, the sound of the guns had no power behind them, and outside the orbs (which you can only collect one time each) and the great landing sound it was a lackluster game.
I cant quit playing crackdown it is so much fun ! 15 hour days of playing crackdown wooot cant wait for the beta and updates for the other 100 points !!!

the hardest boss is a pain to get to in crackdown, I finally get to the top and guys would not stop poring from that room, I dont feel like going back up there, TMNT being shown at GDC confermed, halo 3 beta at GDC confermed, Major Nelson knows something we dont know and if he told us he would be fired confermed, killzone 2 will have better graphics then halo 3 confermed, but halo 3 will be better confermed, peter moore will have mario on his knee cap in the year 2010 confermed
