You can read the backstory of the friendly wager and then N’gai’s latest update.
360 days later, J makes good on the bet.
I lawled.
Very amusing. I loled.
Brilliance, J Allard is such a cool guy...
pity he left for the Zune...
Something about bald men :P, lol.
Did he wear it just for a picture for a minute or for a whole month like the bet required?
all good but any more info one the update?
J was right about it being a complete failure though (at least compared to the DS, which just focuses on gaming).
shut up about the update already!
Funny how he said that they already have the 21st Century Walkman called the "iPod", but then he goes to do Zune. That's the LOL.
He's probably kicking himself for leaving Xbox. That's where it's at! =)
Good to see J have a bad hair day.
Cannot wait for Zune in UK ever since it went on sale in the US, been put of Ipod Zune Rocks!!. Zune all the way, with J Allard on board it's going to be great.
How unfortunate for him lol
update
I know that the Microsoft folks, et al, have to suck up to him, but N’gai is an idiot.
Then again, anyone who loses in Madden football to a Playboy Playmate (excluding obvious 'intentional' reasons) deserves to have their masculinity ripped from their bodies and beaten with it. :-|
Fortunate for N’gai, you don't need an ounce of masculinity to churn out the drivel he shovels.
Whats that in your twitter? six new arcade games announced? INFO PLEASE!
Meh.....me likes me Nano.
Thats awesome. J Allards a good man! I recently just watched the video he did about PGR3, and that was great to.

Does anyone still play their PSPs? I do see the occasional guy on the plane. I got caught up in the hype and bought one soon after it launched, but then I barely played it. The games weren't that good; at the time most were rehashes of the previous version of a current title (I'm looking at you Burnout). I also realized a few things:
* I'm not much of a mobile gamer
* I already have other mobile media players that serve my needs better
* I hate fast moving games on the small screen (headaches galore)
* The PSP controls are too small for my hands (I feel discomfort within 15 minutes)
* I really like increasing my gamerscore
So I sold it on eBay.
I sold mine on Ebay too... small world eh?
Yeah, but I prefer my phone for mobile gaming, it's a Motorola SLVR L7 and all I play on it is PGR3 Mobile and Lumines... good times.
Wondering when you were going to post about this. Saw you mentioned it on your Twitter update.
It can't really be 360 days later can it? That's just too coincidental marketing wise. ;)
And major, you ever have any Xbox related bets that you lost?
J Allard is a D-Bag
The PSP is *** and shipped numbers don't count Allard should have just laughed that dumbly named fucker off the face of the planet.
*** the PSP.
Hey Major, what about our bet? You claimed that using a headless goat was a good PR move for Sony and I said it would backfire. If you won I was going to send you my Dreamcast and if I won you would send me an Elite. Is it in the mail? What, you don't remember our bet????
I sold my PSP to Gamestop late last year. It was worth more to me on thier store shelves than on mine, gathering dust.
I liked playing Ridge Racer on it, but that was about it. The unnerving disc grinding noise, the bad load times, poor game library, and the odd Sony marketing plan that emphasized movies over games (sound familiar?) severed my ties to the company. I traded in my PSP and the 4 games I got over the past three years.
I'd get another handheld system; but probably not from Sony if they keep up this odd, elitist marketing plan that doesn't embrace the gamer. That's also why I don't have a PS3; no decent games and uncalled-for elitist posturing.
So N'Gai, the playstation apologist is saying the psp is a smashing success and banking his bet and what little of his reputation on the fact that how many idiots bought and traded in a psp. Now J. Allard has to pay up. It baffles me how somebody on Sony's payroll (real or imaginery) can get away with being a journalist. I could see if he worked for psm or i love playstation magazine, but how can people listen to this idiot. He is almost as bad as Shane Bettenhausen.
Funny thing is, I never see anyone using a PSP and I work for a game company. People at lunch are always playing their DS's or they are playing some card game like Magic. I wonder who Sony actually sold all those PSP's to. Maybe Ken K.'s payoff wasn't in cash or stock but in about five million PSPs...
