That’s the big rumor that was burning through the web today. Todd over at the Seattle PI has a write up on the official announcement tonight, and more importantly…videos (like the one above) that demonstrate the concept. Here are more stories on Surface from Google News.
Edit: On10.net has a video posted as well. Here is the official site on Microsoft.com
Bah...nothing for me to use.
Looks like I'm sticking with the iPhone.
That looks expensive. Ive got kid's so I think I will pass.
Anyone have a spare ten grand?
welcome to Minority Report :)
Wow, that looks cool.
Wow! Futuristic PC's at the end of 2007!
I. Want. That.

Gimmick
Yay.
I'm stoked to see that microsoft is trying to even further people from social interaction. Back in the good ole' days a wave or hello or thanks was commonplace. Now because of internet shopping and vending machines, people are losing respect for the fellow man. Damn those vending machines.
(/sarcasm}
The surface looks neato. It's nice that the screen is made from hard acrylic instead of those stupid touch screen material.
imagine playing an rts with that. reminds me of the endwar announcment trailer.
That looks awesome but I would have no need for it. I was really hoping for the announcement of gaming on the Zune. Oh well... :(
~fin~
Woah...it's like those future movies!
cool
I cant wait to see more of this product, thanks for the info Larry
cool for stratagy games.
I'd trade a kidney for that thing.
That's neat.
So, the 360 Elite's been out a whole month now!
I know a month is a reallllllllly long time for some people, so I'll have to assume you've forgotten:
WHERE'S THE FIX TO GIVE ME ACCESS TO THE $150 OF XBLM CONTENT THAT I "PURCHASED" ON MY 360 ELITE?!
Its been a month now that I haven't been able to feel safe purchasing content on XBLM.
Its been a month that every time my friends, family, and coworkers ask me about the 360 or XBL, I have to hang my head and deliver the grim news that Microsoft actually PUNISHES its customers for purchasing its consoles.
Its been a month that my wife hasn't been able to play Astropop!
Its been a month that my daughter hasn't been able to play Uno!
But please, post more about a touch-screen table, that's much more important and meaningful.
Im vaguely remember Bill Gates demoing this product a few years ago, with a business card and a pda....
That's amazing...I was just thinking about how 10 years from now you will see those in stores and stuff. I work at a grocery store right now(i'm only 18...) and whenever someone has produce u have to type in codes for each one...with a surface screen, you could just set the produce on the table and that's all that you would have to do...amazing.
Is that product...for real? LOL.
I can't wait for this product to mature and imagine the possibility of surface integration with future xbox product.
I think I've seen a video of something like that where someone played a special version of Warcraft 3 on it...
That looks really cool when I heard MS was making a big anounchment I thought it was for a Portable Xbox. I even thought of a good name for it XBP, Xbox Portable, XSquare, Xbox 180 what do you think
That is f***in awesome. O_o
I knew this was coming out eventually, Mr. Gates liked to show it off at random keynote addresses. What I think I like about it is you can splash some casual gaming into the mix, with games like Puzzle Quest, Bejeweled, Solitaire, maybe even Sudoku.
