HD -DVD Player price drop (and free HD DVD's) (Updated)

Starting August 1st, the Xbox 360 HD DVD player will be priced at $179 (U.S. only) Plus, you can also get five HD DVD titles for free as part of the ‘Perfect Offer.’

Edit: More details here on this and that 300 will be coming to the Xbox Live Video marketplace in August.

So Canada isn't included? boo-urns, since the HD-DVD drive is selling for $199cdn here already, and a price drop w/free hd-dvds would be welcomed next door here as well.

i think it is great if you do not already have a player, but for those that already bought it we get shafted as well.first they cannot answer why my elite does not work properly and now this......great.

Can you have a word in someone's ear to get that deal over in Europe? Right now, the retail price of the HD DVD player here is the equivelent of $260. That's RIDICULOUS, to be honest. And that doesn't include any movies!
