NICE!  Being a cheap bastard pays off again!  I hope more games follow this model so everyone can eventually play together.  I'll only buy expansions/maps for the games I REALLY like, but I wouldn't mind some more LOST PLANET action.  Besides, after the initial money is made, it's like advertising: I'll be on LOST PLANET later today to play these new maps most likely, and everyone who checks my Gamer Card will see that, stirring up interest and, possibly, sales.
