With Rock Band now on sale in Canada, the song packs previously released in the U.S. are now available in Canada.
This will be greeted well by the Canadians, some moaned in the latest pack thread. Good work Major!
Seeing as how we couldn't get it before anyway, this is great news. I'll hopefully be able to find a copy somewhere around the city stores. Thanks for the update, Maj. This game is relying highly on Downloadedable content -- it's nice to see something else in Rock Band in marketplace other than gamer pictures for once!
*Cheers*
Happy Holidays!
Thank you! As a Scottish reader I was getting sick of all the Canadians complaining about not having the packs when the game wasn't even on sale in their country!
However, I hope all the Canadian gamers enjoy the game and I look forward to rocking out with you when RB is released here next year!
Well, at least they won't be behind as far as trying to catch up to the US. I bet the UK will have a crapload of DLC to purchase once Rockband is released...
Are you sure this game is already on sale in Canada? None of the stores I've checked have it yet, and the Best Buy website says it won't release until the 28th...
Yay, it's finally on sale, too bad none of the stores are actually selling it.
Yeah I went to Best Buy and Future Shop first thing this morning neither had any copies for sale. The staff in the dept. told me they are expecting the game only sometime between tomorrow and mon. and the the kit is still not expected until the 28th. Wal Mart said they're expecting it Christmas Eve. EB at the Oshawa Centre told me they are not expecting it until the 28th or 29th of January. They also despite having signs up for it, refused to take a pre-order on the game as they could not guarantee availability. I don't see how a huge company like EA with all of it's resources could bungle a game launch this badly not just in Canada, but Europe and Australia etc. as well. I don't really care when it comes out. I'm just tired of wasting my time and gas going to the store to get a copy only to be dissappointed because they don't have any, and nobody can give me a clear answer as to when they will have one.
better to go to the states to buy it if you live close to the border. everyone in canada wants 199 for it, so even after the exchange rate you are paying way less since its 169 in the US
I take back my earlier complaints. Thank god! Now on Christmas I can play Buddy Holly! Thanks.
You guys in the UK say that we complain....yet I've seen post after post about you guys whining about (in the past) video marketplace, this dumb SWOS arcade game god I don't think the Uk guys have stopped complaining yet... what else... pretty much any announcement from Major Nelson or Microsoft, the UK guys always try to tear it apart. Why can't Europe be more like North America....
Finally! Thanks Major for the news. Can't wait to download "Joker and the Theif" and a few Metallica songs...
Street date was today it seems but from what I've read and been told. Software will be stocked on the 22nd and the bundle will hit the stores on the 28th.
For all you who are still waiting for Rockband to fret. The Game itself is the best music/entertainment game out there, but (yes, there is a BUT) the hardware is pitiful. My Guitar strum consistently stops working, my drum kick pedal cracked in half and I had to rebuild it, now my drum pads are cracking 1 by 1 and Im constantly hot-gluing them.
What gets frustrating is just as soon as you start getting good - the equipment starts breaking down... and to us fortunate folks who were able to get it in advanced... No Warranty as of yet!
Trust me, let the US of As work out all the glitches and faults with the equipment so that when you get your bundle of the game it will last you more than 3 weeks...
Whats?
IF its available in canada, howcome no stores have it or can agree on when they will have it, or can even agree on a price?
This is the most ridiculous product launch in quite a while. Stores around here got the PS2 version (game only) today, and are saying nothing else will be around until after Christmas. And EA and MTV haven't given any real answers as to the holdup. Really poorly handled all around.
I know us in the UK obviously will have to wait till the game comes for us to get these but thank god
now all the canadians will stop moaning about it
Nice to see they're (technically) the same price as the US.
