I just found out that the multi-award winning Burnout 3 Takedown wil be available Worldwide (except Japan) on Xbox Originals starting this Monday, January 14th for 1200 points.
This is great news! Thanks Major. I know a few people that actually were hoping this would come to originals. I will be one of the first to buy it!
If MS doesn't offer something new with the downloadable version of the game, I and apparently many others will have no reason to purchase these games. Im still waiting for achievements and on-line multiplayer for Halo.
Ha! I just sold my copy of BO3 for under $10. Why anyone would spend more money for a DRM-encumbered version of this game is beyond me.
The pricing structure makes sense. 400 points for classic games, 800 points for games that are new or very popular classic games, 1200 points for full games. If they sold them for 800 points, people would complain about the games that are listed for 800 points. "Why would I buy Omega Five for 800 points when I can get a full retail game like Fable, Halo or Burnout for 800 points".
And their price, $15, isn't that outrageous compared to buying the game new from a store. Some you can find cheaper, others are about the same. I wish they were a little cheaper, but I wish everything was a litte cheaper.
With all that said, I would love to buy several of these games but I won't until the DRM thing is addressed.
The Hedon: I don't understand. Why don't you buy a used copy for less money on Amazon.com? You'll get a case, a disc, and a manual. And there's no DRM to prevent you from playing the game offline if you every replace your Xbox.
6:45 est and cod4 is down again. =/ ive got 12 people in a private match who just want to PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. =/
I played this on PlayStation 2. The online play was great and I prefer this to the Burnout Revenge game. I won't be trying it though just yet on Xbox Originals since I'm trying not to spend a lot of points. I have it still on PlayStation 2 so I can still go back whenever. I would be curious to know if the online play still exists on it.
BUYER'S BEWARE!
EA nixed the servers for Burnout 3 Take down. Xbox Live will not work on Burnout 3 since EA controls their servers.
I will not buy this or ay other marketplace content until you FIX THE DRM.
you know what we be great a real update from major nelson regarding xbox live issues and cod4 instead of mindless fluff.....
mmm...reading some of the hedons posts i think we may have a ms troll here.
HAHA THE JAPANESE ARE PAYING FOR LOSING WORLD WAR II.
BTW, Major Nelson you look fabulous in that tight shirt.
No Achievements, No Buy.
I'll just wait and pick up Paradise later this month for some Burnout action.
major live needs to be fixed..this is getting crazy !

I don't want to risk a used/damaged copy for one. Second, I love having my game library stored on my HDD...all my original games, all my Live Arcade games. It's very convenient. As for offline with a new Xbox 360, MS switched my serial numbers on my account, so my (and others) games work offline too. Another nice convenience is having all the games on my HDD to take over to a friends house that has their 360 on Live to play together. It's all about convenience. Same goes for all my music, movies, etc.
Finally, you get a free back up. With a physical media, if it's damaged, you have to buy the game again. With Xbox Live, if something happens to my HDD/360, I can just download it again in a few minutes. I pay for convenience. I would rather pay $10.00 for the download version than say, $5 for the used physical media version.
Yeah, there should DEFINITELY be a note on the download page that you will NOT be able to play online.
Doobydar, we don't need your kind here. If you have nothing good to say, please leave this blog. Major, and the rest of us, will not tolerate your snide remarks and troll bait. Please move along.
I'm with Hedon.
It's quite simple really. If you don't want it, don't get it. What's with this idea that it's your job to push your own feelings about a game, or downloadable games vs. hardcopies, or whatever else everyone is complaining about? This service exists because there are people that enjoy having it. End of discussion really. It's not for you to decide what everyone else has to like.
The negativity on this site is getting completely out of control.
Well stated Mr3ionic. People feel that just because not everyone agrees with their opinion, they must force feed their beliefs on others, or insult them for not being on the same page. Really pathetic. And to think, we thought the comments were for opinions.
@the hedon
who made you god.live is getting alot of ppl angry, and the truth hurts...lol
any updates on live major?
the support page says "Up and running" but nobody can play and the dashboard is slow at loading!
Donut~
I would buy every one of these if they came with achievements.... :(
Since LIVE is STILL having problems, why don't you give us an XBOX original or a month of LIVE for free.
The ongoing issues with your service is getting beyond a joke and one lowly arcade game isn't looking like sufficient compensation.
@Mr3ionic: "The negativity on this site is getting completely out of control."
If you're referring to the DRM complaining, then tough luck. The DRM situation has gotten completely out of control, and apparently the only way to address it properly is to escalate.
