Wow some people are ungrateful, M$ like some of you like to call them, didn't have to offer ANY compensation, but they did anyways, and they offered up a good game too. At least show some damn appreciation instead of just complaining.
And for those who complain that they already own Undertow, before immediately assuming that you were left out, why don't you just ask nicely if there's any other way you will get compensated. And yes for those of you who just read Major's comment, he said to contact support. I'm guessing you guys will get your 800 points back. So everyone should be happy.
Sure it ain't "Goldeneye" but at least they didn't offer a bad game(Undertow got an 8.2 Critic average, which is pretty good), especially when they weren't even legally bound to offer anything.

PS: Oh and those of you who do get Upset over my post(although, why take the internet seriously). Don't bother coming to find me directly to Xbox live to harass and scold me like someone i wont mention did. You will A) Humiliate yourself for no reason and B) I wont waste my time to answer you. But if you do feel the urge to contact me, i offer you a better solution for settling things. You can challenge me to a match at one of three games: Forza Motorsport 2, Rock band or Guitar Hero 3. I Didn't chose these games because i feel confident in my ability, i'm actually just pretty average at those. I chose these titles for a grudge match because those are what i feel like playing on my last weekday before college restarts!

Nice choice of game ... I was contemplating picking this one up ... The only problem I've got is the time frame attached to the game being free as my console RRoD'd on Wednesday night so there's no way I'm going to be able to get it back in time :(

This is a VERY immature move on Microsoft's part I demand a better apology since I own every game that has come out in the US.
MS can just suck it up and give me the 800 points back I paid for undertow. I should not be penalized for funding the vacation of several MS execs with my money spent on MS products (including a 100 percent complete system library, and 3 xbox 360 consoles all bought new)
Furthermore this sure as heck better not count as this weeks arcade release. This 'reward' is supposed to be an apology to the consumers that suffered lets hope MS doesn't forget that and still releases at LEAST one new arcade game. otherwise this reward doesn't count and they have to do something ELSE for everyone.
Oh and for anyone that plans on disagreeing with me, be it MS employee or otherwise - I'll just go ahead and accept your apologies right here in advance for that.

Well I called and I also read majors reply both after I made that last post, I'm sufficiently satisfied with how things were handled after all and unless i give further notice I retract my previous post (couldn't find a delete button) I'm glad they aren't screwing the people that already own this game, that really irritated me a great deal when it initially seemed that they were punishing anyone that was an early supporter of the game.

Oh, nice! Undertow is a great game. But wait, I already own it. So I guess I miss out... as do my wife and daughter who both have Gold accounts and suffered through this. Yay Microsoft! Nothing like giving your paying subscribers a kick in the teeth, after weeks of shitty service.
I don't know where your post went Major to call "Support" I did waited 10 mins on hold, and i talked to some indian lady, who didn't have a clue, and when she finally pieced what I said together......I was put on hold again, and to go to xbox.com/support for more info....I didn't get completely mad because she was obvious not up to date at all, she said call again come when you guys got this for free date. Excellent.. I'm glad customer service helped me. /sarcasm

Undertow is a great game. The problem is I already own it. I give Microsoft credit for giving away such a good game; it just stinks that I've already bought it.

That is a nice gesture, Major. Thank you. I heard this is a great game and I am excited to try it. The downtime over the holidays was frustrating but I think most of us understand that these things can happen and it is nice of Microsoft to try and make it right with us.
PEOPLE, CONTACT MS IF YOU ALREADY HAVE UNDERTOW, the major already told us this in the comments. Read them all before you piss and moan about already buying it.
And nobody cares about goldeneye. It was great when we were all in college and stoned with our roommates. But nothing looks worse then bad 3d graphics. 8bit sprites look better. Go try and play it again, it DOES NOT age well.

What about those of us who tried the trial version of the game when it was released and thought it SUCKED?!?! Free crap still stinks. Just give me the month of XBL you stole from me. That is all I want. Handing me a copy of Superman 64 or Barbie's Horse Adventure isn't going to do anything but continue my disgust at MS's lack of good customer support. Major, you are great. The company you work for.. not so much.
