Nice, but for most people iPod == personal multimedia device. No way Microsoft even get's a fair chunk of the market. We'll just see how large the ZUNE thing gets; not big in Holland here anyway (bad naming; really bad naming)...

and whoever said that if microsoft built their own computers they wouldn't crash, u are insane lol. its the OS that crashes not the hardware, and in case u have been in a cave imacs use the same parts as pcs now. intel duo core processors with an ati 128 mb x1600. and if u think its not fast, well it doesnt have 100 programs running in the background stealing system resources.

i would never buy a zune. i cant stand microsoft and if it wasnt for some great 2nd party software from bungie and bioware id never buy an xbox 360 either. imo microsoft is just trying to find something else to hire more pakistanis to have to troubleshoot. i love xbox, anything else microsoft is garbage.

Actually most MS hardware is great, however they normally only make prototypes and then let other companies make it for them, while they provide the software. I bet you if MS made computers then Windows' OS would be Just as good as Apple's.

Zune, like most Miscrosoft hardware, is going to suck. Hopefully Microsoft will burn through a couple of billion more before they quitely drop it. Windows CE anyone?

For those of you miffed about the product expansion it was in the "Big Guys" first book. Something along the lines of : ( First you grow the pie, then you slice it up ). Course the pie is being served on the same table for the builders and members of a very large house.

The memory card idea would only be usefull if the HDD wasn't that big. More likely you'll be able to use the Zune as a memory card. The gaming line would evidently understand your Xbox Gamertag to support live anywhere.

8 different lines eh? Hmmm.

I want to be able to... A) Stream any marketplace non demo media to my zune from my 360. B) Play xbla games on my zune C) View my friends list and send messages via wi-fi D) Be able to access marketplace and some new music store via wi-fi. E) Use as a memory card to take game saves and my profile anywhere. If those things happen I will be first in line to pick one up

Hey Darth platypus i like the idea of a microsoft car. But what i really want to see is a microsoft toilet. I mean everyone uses one at least 3 times a day. It's an untapped market.

All I can say is OMG. If Microsoft can develier this, then they can take all my money. But seriously, I can envision a load of cool features for this thing. With your content being stored online or at least bookmarked online, you should be able to access it with any MS device. And, if it's anything like XBOX Live then it should be great. The user interactivity will be the seling point for me. If it gives you several ways of interacting with other music listeners in the way that XBOX Live allows you to interact with gamers, then I might as well pre-order one. Also, I hope they take full advantage of the wi-fi and allow adding songs via wi-fi. A decent feature set should also be available when you're not in a wi-fi hot spot.

"You're getting one without seeing what it looks like, what it costs, what the sound quality is like, what the music store offers, etc." - I have seen what it looks like. I'm not too fussed about the price. I expect the sound quality will be good. I don't really care what the music store offers.
