X06 content leaked? I found some stuff on the forums these are set to be rumors but you never know do we ever? "* Tommorow is the X06 conference in Barcelona. Some info has been leaked including some big surprises. Here is a list of what is going to be anounced tommorow. Tune in for the confernce at Xbox.com from 6pm GMT. * Gears of War single player and multiplayer videos shown. Playable on show floor. * HD-DVD anouncement. Release date and price for Europe and United States. £119.99/E149.99 and December 1st release in Europe.$199.99 USD and November 24th release in US. All will be bundled with Universal Media Remote. * A new Halo 3 trailer is shown. Some multiplayer info revealed. Aiming for 50-64 player online. Announce that Halo 3 will be the first game to run natively on 1080p. They will make full use of this update. Available in 2007. Playable behind closed doors. * More info about 1080p and how it will be done. New dashboard announcement. Release date revealed for late November. This demo for LSW2 is really well done. A good range of things, with unlockables in the demo to explore with. Come on, for 510 megs or so, it is a really nice demo. That's two down. Sonic would be a nice hat trick, but at this point, it has been completely better this week in terms of class-a content. Not to slight the Japanese at all, because their games look fantastic, and there is still Lost Planet coming (multiplayer up and running, sounds like fun), but this is what we as the Usa folks like. Demos. FEAR was a good stretch run and this demo was more than expected. You would think that LSW2 would be a good seller in Japan, can anyone pass me a link if there is any data for this? Have you guys given any thought to a demo disk? Not just a kiosk disk, but maybe something like a tip-in product for halloween, say 6-9 demos that have been on live for a while now. Say COD2, Lost Planet, Kameo (either), Test Drive (2nd demo), Lego Star Wars 2, Madden 07, and maybe Dead Rising. All the demos on a DVD for retail somewhere or something. I don't ever remember seeing an all-inclusive 360 (all 360 stuff only) demo disk in the open market yet. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

Don't ever ever trust your repair to Microsoft. Not being mean, however I paid like many others that 50 buck warranty to the store and got my 2 yr on the spot in store replacement plan, none of this return to MS crap to get back a refurb unit..forget that nonsense. Like you My launch unit died 4 days ago, the infamous 3 red lights of death plauged it, within 30 minutes (the time it took to get to bestbuy) I had a brand new unit with a build date of 8-22-06. They even let me keep my hardrive so i didn't lose all my save games. Mine was the last of my friends systems to fail, I thought I was the lucky one until the other day. All 6 of my other friends who also had launch systems like me, all have died within the past 2 months. so the 7 to 9 month life on launch systems is about right. I asked in bestbuy what the return rate was on them when I got my new one, he said they come in all day long every day, almost every launch system they have sold has come back by now, they don't care they get credit from MS.

So be warned in future, never trust the MS warranty, but the store one it's same price and you get a new machine there and then no hassle.

Oh and I'm not venting anything especially not at Major. Just hard to accept I've got a 400 euro doorstop that I so believed in during the past months. Its the trust and faith in the product, its gone. :(

RIP my 360. Born 12-Dec-2005 died 23-Sep-2006.

Did a quick look at xbox.com forums and crazy amounts of launch-window units are failing after 7-9months now without prior problems. The failure rate for the initial batches must be climbing crazy high by now, and will only get higher as months pass.

The people in the know told me its a problem with the BGA mounting (socketless, direct to pcb) of the CPU and GPU and lack of lead in the solders due to new environmental laws.

Good luck getting MS to admit it though.

Major if you're staying here in Barcelona until the weekend, this Friday John Digweed is playing at the Razzmatazz and saturday night The Hacker is playing in the same place. All the X06 staff should take over the whole disco, I can't go inside X06 but at least can hang out with you ppl if you have time to go out for some drinks and dancin' Enjoy Barcelona! gimme credentials (shameless plug) haha
