Loved the cast, but this demonstrates one of the most annoying parts of (net)(Pod)casts, standard, normalized levels (actually, the lack of). 'e' is an interesting guest, but the sound levels between Major and 'e' is to much. Llistening at my desk, I either have Major booming, or 'e' being way to quiet to hear. It may be my advanced age, but can't the levels be normalized? Or at least check the levels during dialogues. It just seems that there should be software to achieve a more consistent sound level.

True Kaba, but only 1 week away, they usually have the date pinned down pretty good. But you are right, that could change. We shall see.

SH it's not nesserilly official, just because they confirnmed it. All they know is that in thier computers it's still on for an Oct. 31 release. It can still be delayed, and they might not even get word of it until after the supposed release date. I acutally placed a pre-order for the Forza 2 faceplate just days before it was supposed to come out, and I called up every local game store the day, and following days after the supposed release date. And now it's been pushed back. When I did call they told me they didn't get it in with thier ussual game shipment, and where actually wondering where it was themseves since they still had the orginal release date in the computer.

All I do know is that IF the Wireless Headset's release date is solid for Oct 31, then yeah the Fall Dash Update will have to be out either before, or on the same day as the headsets release.

I don't own either system (I wouldn't buy a Wii because a new way of controlling a game is not the only thing I consider Next Gen), and let me just say I listen fairly religeously and enjoy the show. I have to say though, some of the comments I find confusing such as the HD DVD Drive will be able to output 1080p games? If the system wasn't designed from the ground up to play 1080p titles will publishers be making 2 versions of these games? 1 for the million plus owners of the 360 and 1 for the 100K or so that buy the add-on? That doesn't seem to make any sense. Also, there was a MS rep on a while back who basically said it was impossible to do 1080p gaming for any system, now it seems as though once the PS3 proved it could be done, there was this huge spin being promoted by MS. What gives?

Major mistakingly let us know when the update will be. EB Games confirmed that the headset is out on 10/31/06. Major said that you can't use the headset without the update. 2 + 2 = update on 10/31/06 unless they release the headset without the ability to use it. Now that would pi$$ off a lot of people, huh? Something else this tells me is that the headset connects directly to the console and not through the controller. Thanks Major.

Great Show major .. ..as usual you try to be the most unbias knowing what you know and the direction you come from... But it's always good to hear .. Any informed listner if they feel youre being unbalanced can go else where to get a different opinion so keep it up .. PS. Where is it "almost official" that the head set is comming out .. Being a dad of 2x and having a lovely wife .. I had planned to get the head set closer to december when it was first anounced, but now if this comes out now .. It may cancel out my order for .. Rainbow 6, Can you at least confirm or see if you can get an answer on the release date. For a sweet spot would be gears and a new headset..

Rainbow can wait till December...

If the Wireless headset wont work untell the fall update, and the headset if due out (acording to GameStop.com) on oct. 31st (next week) then dose that mean we will see the update this week ?????
