Son updated his 360. Started locking up. No red lights yet! Worst game so far is Double Agent (30 seconds). Every game he owns now locks up in 2 to 15 minutes, even the non-360 Halo2. Customer Support is hard to understand and just reads the same same page that is on support page to fix (frozen) screens. Bought at Sams Club on 3/06, which has always had a very liberel 1 year no questions return policy. The Manager there has told me that Microsoft has ordered them not to accept any returns and that all machines must go back to Microsoft.

I have some games working and some arent. I just PRAY that gears works tonight.

I am on my 3rd console and this is rediculous....

Sweet. I've had my 360 for 6 months and finally decided to get live. Ran a cable through all of my walls to attach to the 360 to my router, logged on, downloaded the update and get the three lights. Called customer support and was told to call back tomorrow. I just paid Microsoft $50 to break my $400 dollar machine for me. I could have done it myself for free!

Yep, so here we are 7 days after the update and still my 360 is stuck in this endless update loop. WTF?

Launch box, no problems till after update. Only games that lock up so far are Perfect Dark zero (only during single player) and ncaa 2007. They lock up within a few minutes. All other games seem to work ( doa 4, graw, nba2k7, obli, condemed, ex.)

My question is.. is there going to be a patch or should I send it in to get repaired...

I DO NOT WHAT TO SEND IT IN RIGHT NOW BEACAUSE OF GEARS!!!

Any help woulde be great. thxs

Allright u seem to be the only one to know what's going on. Long story short, DL update,it froze then eventually died. Got new one ,have not hooked up to live yet due to update fear. When are we gonna get the all clear so I can get online again? I would greatly appreciate it if we got an answer once and for all.

I feel all you guys pain MS are a joke!!!

I bought a new 360 last week downloaded the update and BAM E71

Got it replaced in game the next morning and BAM same thing download the update {required to use live} and E71 error!!!

So i'm on my third 360in a week and haven't dared use live yet i'm still paying for it!!!

Support was a joke they spoke to me like a child and hadn't even heard of the error code E71!!

I hope some hear steps into the unknown and tries to download the new update as thats the only way we'll find out if it's safe!

Same issue here guys. Sometimes Ring Of Death (3 red lights), sometimes fails even before the dashboard, sometimes can even get to load a game and play for 1 or 2 minutes.

Will there be a download fix, or is it back to Support?

To Beetle!we dont know(keep checking back here,but then again nothing has happend yet)Im getting a replacement 360 soon.I dont know what 2 do(If i shall update or not)if i dont update,then i cant use Xboxlive(But i still pay for Xboxlive)This is total crap!And M$ really dont give a *** annymore it seems!Guess we are screwed!!!Worst support for a console so far!They destroy our machines,then they want us 2 pay for shipping it!This is beyond bullshit!!!

I have been looking, but since my 360 died from this update, if I go out and get a new 360 and download the update, is there a chance that will burn out too at this point?

Okay its almost a full week since the fall update came out and still my 360 will not let me download it! I have called tech support numerous of times. We go over all the troubleshooting procedure still nothing. I go to my friend's house, hook it up to his moden direct connection still nothing. I have tried everything.November is the most anticipated month of xbox 360 one year career,and microsoft figurs 1% is having an issues with this. 1% of 6 million is 60,000. That 60,000 people are pissed off! Those 60,000 could even switch over to the PS3 or the Wii because of this.Dont get me wrong I love my 360, but if its not working its a $400 paper weight! PLEASE MAJOR HELP US OUT!
