I will admit that while I disagree with this blatant type of money-grabbing by companies like EA, it is clear what the solution is... don't buy it. If people don't buy this stuff they'll soon get the message. The uniforms in Madden and NCAA being a perfect case. The negative publicity around all that was just so great EA had no option but to release them for free. Sadly, there are just too many people out there prepared to pay for this stuff that those of us against it are probably in the minority.

Another worthless comment. PS3 has the same issues, have you read about them trying to charge for Gran Turismo 5, and how the whole game would cost 300+ dollars?

They are doing it on all systems, and not because of space restrictions.

Um.. they aren't. This is not NEW content. This is just a way to unlock stuff faster if you don't want to play.

Except for the AE86 (1987 Toyota). That was in the Japanese version for free, but we have to pay in the USA for it.

Don't get me wrong, I love Marketplace and I've found the demos VERY useful in deciding which games I'll be spending my hard earned money on, but I really think some of this is getting out of hand. But of course, as long as people buy it, it'll keep on coming.

Last EA game I bought was Madden 07, every year It's just been getting worse and worse... features dissappearing, I actually had some fun with this game, but I remember a couple years ago it was a much deeper experience.

EA is going downhill in quality, and nickel and diming us for these ridiculous downloads for many of their games. I will certainly not buy a game in the near future with the EA name on it, and if they don't change their ways soon, maybe not ever again.

I think though, if enough people refuse to buy their games, they will slowly go back to making higher quality games, but if enough retards keep supporting this, it will only get worse.

I would love to see the sales numbers for these downloads...Has anyone added up what all these would cost if every NFS Carbon piece of content was purchased? Only Mr. Gates himself could afford it...

Yeah, I'm going on a year avoidance of all EA products. This could be the best entry in the entire series and I'm still not getting it, knowing half the content is not going to be accessible unless I fork out more cash above the already rediculous $60 pricetag, especially when these EA games are chock full to the brim with product placement that is, in reality, supposed to drive the consumer's cost way the hell down (usually close to "free"). These kind of releases are only worth it 3 or 4 years down the road where the bloated MSRP is down to $20 and the content is made free because nobody is buying it anymore.

The sad thing is I enjoy the Need For Speed series, much more than Midnight Club, etc. And now it's going to cost a fortune to get the entire "product." I can live without a red polo shirt in Tiger Woods or, god forbid, actually earn the in-game items instead of paying for it to be unlocked on day one...but this game is going too far with extra parts and cars that you can't have unless you bend over and take a porking for it.

At least when Bethesda realized that the Horse Armor for Oblivion was a fiasco they responded. EA is just gong to bulldoze ahead with their eyes closed and their fingers in their ears saying "La La La La La I can't hear you!"

I don't have a problem with anyone who buys the game, but if you pay for content you can unlock for free, then you are doing nothing but perpetuating this trend which will only get worse, not better.

I wonder if they've earned more on this crap than they've lost sales to people now boycotting EA. Doesn't seem like a good business model. I'm not buying any more EA Games until this crap stops, that's for sure.
