LymeM--I'm now having the same problem...since the mantainance session I'm blocked from connecting to vista MCE with the error that the system "cannot connect to live". But I *CAN* connect to live at other times, and it seems that a disconnect is forced as I try to access the extender. From my reading on the web, the requirement for xbox live connection is only supposed to be for beta versions of windows vista (I'm using RC2 ultimate).

At any rate, the mantainence session for live has abruptly taken away my media center setup with no warning...any ideas from anyone?

I am surprised to find that some people commenting on this blog aren't really that interested in getting a 'refund' for Live downtime... consider the following:

1. The 3 hours of downtime, might happen to be the only 3 hours one might be able to play that day... So it would only be fair to provide a refund for 1 day.

2. I am paid for those 3 hours. They are mine. Microsoft, by not refunding me, is stealing my 1.5 cents (or whatever)... and stealing is stealing !

3. Instead of a refund, Microsoft could tack on an extra day to your subscription.. Do you really think that would cost them anything ? Who is really being a cheap #$@#$ here ?

I bitched earlier about taking the day off for Crackdown and not being able to play on-line. Didn't realize it was military time, just wished I had this brain fart BEFORE I went to work. :)

oh. i was wondering why xbl was disconnected when i woke up. must've just missed the maitnence after late night halo sessions. not like it matters if it was off for more than a day anyway. care to tell me why xbox.com or my xbox won't let me put in another pre-paid code? goodbye xbl!

Launch console here too Bunny. Works fine except for the occasional freezing issue. I am the exception to the rule in my circle of friends though.

I have two launch consoles (one Pro, one Core) and bought a third for my brother a few months later, have all the auto-updates, and played each for hundreds of hours...no replacements here, no rings of death, and no problems whatsoever. So now everyone knows someone who hasn't had a broken console!

Thanks for the heads up Major.

Don’t think I will ever understand why people insist on been so god dam blatantly stupid, with post like “Probably Maintenance to remove the thousands of my Xbox 360 has broke” or “in ms terms, this means it will be down for 4 days” honestly grow up .

Again thanks for the information Major really is appreciated to actually get information on what is going on.
