It would help if we could remove our credit card information after we've used it instead of it being stored on the system (or even the console) forever just waiting to be pre-texted.

Thanks for your time Major! Glad to know what we're up against now (Which is, pretty much the same thing you're up against on any other areas of the internet) and I'm happy to see that steps are being taken.

I also love Wikipedia for giving me the term 'Social Engineering'. Gotta love the Wiki!

This is the straw that broke the camel's back. This on top of getting a piece of crap console that died 15 days after the warranty ended, then having MS refuse to fix it (I will NOT be buying a new one now), I'm done with 360. I will make sure none of my customers (6-12 a month buying new consoles) buy a 360 if I can help it. Good going MS. To think I actually used to like you guys (until you f'ed me up the a of course).

After some initial confusion involving crazy Bungie.net hacking rumors, Microsoft seems to have determined from where recent Live security issues originated. True, accounts were not "hacked" via Xbox Live or Bungie's web site, but accounts were compromised

It's good that MS admit to the problem. However I feel that the company is still powerless and not really thinking about the well-being of customer's credit card because pre-texting is not a new technique and MS should have thought about it when it wants to enforce customer's credit card with the account (not letting us to remove it from the account is a big big risk... I hope they realize).

I don't think there is any way you can "retrain" someone to avoid pre-texting... humans are always human. I am not surprise that people like Clan Infamous are not afraid of MS at all.

A. Good luck convincing companies to stop using out-sourced tech support. Companies have become increasingly cheap as the years have gone by, and it doesn’t get much cheaper than having Hajji from Bangladesh answer all of your pressing pretext needs.

B. Instead of using a credit card, why not buy those stupid point cards? Then you’re only putting in useless information. That’s what I like about the Xbox Live now…..I am anonymous because of the points cards. They’re a bit of a pain in the ass to enter, but that’s what a keyboard is for I guess.

C. Don’t talk *** on Xbox Live, or you may end up getting some jerkoff that will try and “get you back”. They will screw you out of your account for calling him/her out on cheating. I know it sucks, but that’s the nature of people these days.

D. For hamster’s sake Larry......Jetpack Refueled? Yuck LOL, could you guys find a game more unsuited to an HDTV FFS?

My credit card number was used for purchases in Orange county at Nordstroms. I live in the Midwest. They took the number and created their own credit card. Xbox live is the only place I use the card. Everyone should worry. I was lucky that the Nordstroms clerk was suspicious and card was cancelled.

I get so pissed whenever I engage in dialog with any MS people online and tell them about my issues with my 360. The only thing they ever tell me is to call some stupid Indians who have no idea what they are talking about and it is hard for me to understand them half the time. And then those same stupid Indians give up my information to anyone who asks. MS, get rid of the stupid Indians.

all your consoles will die eventually anyway

don't even know how mine is still "working" - it never worked since the day i got it in jan of 2006 correctly... which means they have been shipping consoles that don't work for a while, not to mention i hear all the time on boards that they got a console a month ago and three red lights of death later they have to go through the whole shipping go round without a console to play on

extend the warranty on these troublesome consoles, again!

good luck "re-training" the monkeys u have in the XBL (supposed) 'customer service center'.

whilst ur at it how about teaching them to be more than drones who know nothing about anything XBL related.

u could get a pre recorded service to replace the Indian call center & it would give the exact same results, probably better.

the call center Indians are pre-texting themselves, they give themselves names like "Jay,Chuck,Randy,etc" & they pretend they're situated in America instead of them being called Punjab & situated in Mumbai,etc.

it says a lot about MS that they feel they need to use the cheapest,nastiest,most-incompetant version of customer call service known to man.

is it too much to ask that i speak to a person w English as their 1st language,a person who has used a 360 at least once & a person that has a credit card of their own so they have some clue?

the fact that i'm in australia & used to have to deal w americans was slightly annoying but at least they had some sorta clue, these Indians have zero clue & the amount of ppl that get screwed over by them is testament to their 3rd class service.

u would think MS was about to go under since they have felt the need to give service to the world from India.

(i have np w Indians, i went their recently, just dont want ppl from a 3rd world country who speak bad english dealing w my credit card details & 360 problems......coz we all know the 360 has 'problems')

Indian call centers are the scourge of the world, have some class u cheap-@ss tards.
