I am spreading the word and getting a lot of email from pissed of 360 owners. Please keep sending your emails to copman221@yahoo.com on how pissed off you are with this Microsoft crap. I have been forwarding them to the reporter who is puting the story together before he comes to my house to do a live taping for the news. Once everthing is done i will let you know what station is doing the story. So please spread the word on other forums. Together we can make Microsoft change their evil ways or really make them look stupid which hopefully will educate people not to purchase any Microsoft products.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but...

It seems the whole DRM issue could be solved with an itunes authorizing and deauthorizing approach.

I can't take credit for the idea gametag: PerfectCr

is the first person that mentioned it on the xbox forums. But I think it's a great idea. If I want I can authorize up to 5 computers to play my itunes music.

This whole DRM issue is keeping me from getting another 36...premium, elite or core. Although I'd love to.

It just doesn't seem very family friendly for a console that is calling itself a "family friendly console" and even has family gaming night.

Why is there always catch with M$ products?

in the days since you launched this video than there are fingers on 40 of your hands.

People that speak up on forums are only the most vocal people anyway, so the vocal minority represents a much larger population of lurkers and one-time visitors. And those lurking/posting only represent a small fraction of those actually effected by the problem. So, I ask again, how big are your hands.

I think we're using a different definition of "handful." Obviously it's not to be taken literally, but figuratively the statement doesn't even make sense. What is a "handful?" 0.5%, i.e. 500,000 people? 1%? 5%? What's the tipping point Albert? How many handfuls of people actually have to be effected by this DRM before you realize that you're going to lose much more money by keeping it in place than by modifying or removing it? Since you've marginalized us, the effected, this way, we'd really like to know what number the minority (or "handful" as you so eloquently put it) have to actually reach so we can work on getting enough exposure of this problem to get you to take us seriously and fix this problem.

Bookmark that petition if you would Major. I told you about it months ago. Have you noticed the exponential growth since the latest SNAFU with the Elite? It's only gonna get worse.

Please, please fix this problem and help us, the honest consumers out. Help us respect you again.

DRM is only good for Content producers and is a horrible, horrible affront to humanity otherwise.

Remember: they don't care about you, they care about your money (or rather _their_ money). DRM is supposed to make it harder to steal. Fair enough. Unfortunately it makes everything harder. I don't think anyone would mind DRM if it wasn't constantly trying to screw them out of things they've already paid for.

Interestingly, it's DRM that has created this mess: nobody would care about HDMI (and thus the Elite) if Sony (and others) hadn't locked out 1080p on all other media types. Why? DRM.

Thanks MS and Sony, we the people love being screwed by giant corporations. No wonder the world hates us.

Boy have you been reading these posts Major? Many people here who would have bought an Elite are putting it off until this matter is fixed -- MS losing money, lol. And once again, I am pretty sure that people will be taking their Elites back because of this issue -- more lost monies. So make a choice. I would hope you choose to support your customers rather than acting like some Elite (pun intended) company who is not waging a console war and thus not caring about its customers.

Once again, we are waiting for a response -- didn't your PR guys ever take a crisis management class in which communicating directly with stakeholders asap to squelch an issue is the ideal path to take rather than complete silence? Man it is time for you all to go back o school, lol.

Major Nelson, thanks for posting the video. I had already seen the 120 gig hard drive on store shelves, and noticed on the package it came with a transfer cable, but it's nice to see the process in the video, and have some questions answered. I know that that was in fact the entire purpose for this story and video.

The Elite isn't for me, since I don't need HDMI. The bigger hard drive would definitely be nice though. Because of that I would much sooner just buy the 120 gig hard drive, for my current Premium console, then move to the Elite, to maintain the content I paid for, and be able to access it no matter what (whether Live/my internet is up or down). However, considering the 180 dollar price tag, for a 120 gig hard drive, I won't be getting that for a while anyway.

Even though I personally wouldn't be effected by this whole issue, regarding paid content, and having to be logged onto Xbox Live (assuming my system never has to be replaced *knock on wood*), I think this is a HUGE problem that NEEDS to be fixed. There are MANY reasons for not being logged onto Live, and a gamer wanting to actually use content he paid for.
