Games that you purchase should automatically come with some gamer pics and themes. I also think that if you get an achievement, you should be able to use it as your gamer pic.

I completely disagree that every theme and gamer pic should be free. If you want professional quality content someone has to pay for it. Personally I don't want a gamerpic that has a Coke logo on it, or an XMen character from a movie, I'd rather pay a small amount of money and get a gamer pic that is unique at least among my list of friends. Since we all like different things, we won't all be buying the same pics. Letting artists make money off digital distribution is a great thing and I'm glad to see it happening. There are plenty of free and sponsored themes and pics out there, there's also plenty of commercial ones, it's not like they give you a few junk quality pics to choose from if you don't want to pay for them either. You should see the PS3 selection for gamer pics it's pitiful compared to what you get on Live.

Your right it isn't an argument, it's FACT. A marketplace is an area to sell goods. As consumers we have a choice to visit it, buy from it or ignore it. That is how the World works. Do you complain about a $50 hamburger or $10 milkshake? No, you don't buy them, you leave it to the people who do (and people do make and buy those items, I didn't make them up).

Do you go to the same place and order a house? No, because they don't sell houses. So you don't want to pay the prices they are asking for and they can't give you what you want, do you go on the Internet and complain about that? No, why? Maybe you should look into that, stop expecting everything for free, you were never promised that so why complain?

You also complain about the cost of LIVE, seriously, it isn't that much. Stop making it out like it's $500 a month, it isn't. Show me another console service that provides the EXACT same features or better for less. That's right, you can't. And don't say the PSN because it's free, it does not meet the same features or better them all, that's what you are paying for.

As for XNA, you can't say you didn't know you would be charged, it was and still is clearly marked everywhere, from Day 1. Why do it? You may be discovered, that's good enough. Why would I want to buy anything from you? Would it actually be any good? I don't know but I am sure people (just like yourself) who would whinge they have to pay for XNA created content when it's just hobbyist programmers.

As for the GH II stuff and Horse Armour, they aren't minor updates they are extension packs which you said you would pay for. Patches are minor updates. You can play both those games without purchasing the content AND finish it AND enjoy it.

I'm not looking for a fight, you just have the wrong mindset to understand how LIVE, the Marketplace or life works. Until you "get" those fundamentals you will ALWAYS be bitterly disappointed.

I love peoples feedback on a product no matter what kind it is , its good , its bad , how it can be improved , if its overpriced or should be free , etc , etc

The people I cant stand are the morons who jump on here calling other people "Old Ladies" or "Whiners" when these so called "whiners" are leaving constructive feedback to Major and the xbox live programming staff on what they think of the product.

If you dont have anything to say about this product good or bad then get a life and go away.

Id rather sit here and read feedback from the "whiners" then read idiotic comments from these people who obviously need a life.

This aint about the picture packs. Its about the general content and quality of the market place. I believe MS can do a lot better; and considering how much we have all payed for this service, we should be expecting a lot more. For example:

1)We're paying for peer-peer multiplayer games

2)We're getting charged stupid amounts for minor updates to Games (GH2 -Song packs, Oblivion - horse armor)

3)We can't make our own avatar's and then have the cheek to charge us for a few jpegs

4)They charge developers for the XNA Creators club.

One of the main reasons I bought an XBox 360 was to write some homebrew games using XNA - but I didn't want to have to pay extra - its not like I can sell any software.

I dont mind paying for arcade games, Extension packs or movies. But dont charge for every little bell and whistle.

Like most of us says, selling marketing stuff is bad. Most of us are not teenager who buy ring bells for their phones.

I would have not post my feelings toward the fact that everything is done to push us to open our wallet, but with the GH2 fiasco I feel like giving my two cents.

You will not have any cents of my money for marketing stuff, but I will keep buying quality product on xbox live arcade, except when it's the same kind of robery than on WII

RUAIRIUA, i'm 25 live alone and am trying to save the cash for 3dsmax (4500) a new pc(about 3500) to get my car working again (est. 4000) by the time my mortgage, and bills get removed from my wages i get about $100 aud to play with.

and i still think complaining about picture packs is a waste of everyone here's life. these pictures may not appear to be much, but you draw a 64x64 that poeple would even consider purchasing.

because if you can create a 64x64 avatar at commercial quality in a resonable time frame, i'd like your help on my game project.

I can only presume that people who whinge about the pricing for the market place are stupid idiots who cannot operate the B button. One push and bam, your out of the purchase screen. You don't have to buy it, like it or view it. The power is yours, except in stopping it because others may like it and the majority wins.

I don't care how hard you have worked, that is no excuse to accuse MS of robbing you. If you hit the button you agree to the prices. If you don't then move on, MS is not forcing you to buy it.

What, you want this stuff but just don't agree with the price? Cry me a river, walk into a shop and tell them you don't want to pay for an item and see what they tell you to do with yourself. Better yet, take it and see what happens.

If you don't even want the content then why are you even here posting away? Get over it and move on.

Seriously, people need to step out into the real world every now and then and open their eyes. This stuff has been happening for years, it's how we got were we are today. If you think one little whinge can change the way the world has worked for a long time then you are seriously not right.
