Heard your comments about the Marantz digital recorder... I used a similar (possibly older) one for recording a 5 day conference in Bulgaria last week. I got almost the entire thing on a 512MB card (64kbps mono MP3). It was great - though getting it through customs was a hassle... had to demonstrate exactly what it did before they'd let it through

Major,
I highly recommend importing a DSL ( ds lite ).
DS's are region-free, so it wouldn't matter.
Only difference is that the instruction manual would come in Japanese ( but you don't need that right? )
lol. Also, good job getting a 28 for your brain age, closest I have come is a 30 a few days ago. ( it has gone up again )

Major,

I really hope people don't get the impression from your 'cast that Australia is backwards in it's broadband availability, (ADSL2 24Mb/s anyone). We have enough trouble convincing people that there are not kangaroo jumping down the main streets of Sydney.

It's a real shame that you did not take me up on my offer to drop by our store as we have a nice fat pipe and no changes, no matter how much you download. Maybe next time?

First rule when staying at a hotel (anywhere not just in Australia):

- Whilst Sitting Down - Check the rates for internet access, have a little laugh and move on.....

Hey Major, great show. It was good to have an 'off topic' interview with the guy from Guinness. However as an Aussie I have to set the record straight with your broadband problems. I travel to Sydney for work frequently (at least weekly) and stay at a variety of hotels. I have not come across any others that cap download limits and some like the Intercontinental (where I am submitting this post from) have free WIFI in some areas like the club rooms. I have just completed a download speed test and have a respectable speed of 1256 kbps. To my knowledge there is no limit on download although I think some ports used for bit torrent etc. are blocked. Basically I think you were unlucky with your choice of hotel and that the service you received is not representative of the local market. Still, thanks for the tip on the Radisson as I will probably give that one a miss for future visits.

shhh im hunting rabbits lol... question hay major is it illegal for people to charge for per min or per kb but ok to pay per month in the U.S?? because im not sure but that reminds me about a bill been pass for that also i think thats why aol has change its rates.. or is that for the provider only?? if so why is shops cafe's charge per min?? i wouldnt mind if it was 10$ per day or something like that..

ps hay if i enter the contest for e3 party can you pay for my flight?? lol j/k
