Another unhappy European consumer here. In the UK it's bad enough that everything costs pretty much double what it does in the US WITHOUT having to be insulted by being denied free stuff.

They treat us EUs like crap. Most of my friends have already traded their 360s in because of this. I've had enough and I'm following suit and trading mine in this weekend *checks bank account to see if there's spare cash to get a ps3*

I think that we should not blame (shoot) Major Nelson for being the messenger but I just hope he is making sure that his superiors at MS are fully aware of what us Non-North Americans are saying and how we clearly feel. I am pleased at the responses that have been posted here regarding this issue as it certainly seems that the consumers have had enough of this bull$hit and yet again are made to feel second rate compared to those in NA.

Problem is that MS have the edge on consoles now due to some big mistakes made by Sony plus of course they lead the marletplace with computers although Mac are now increasing their sales figures at an impressive rate... Come on MS, think about how to keep the rest of the world happy and stop thinking only of those on your doorstep! The people have spoken, it is time to sit up and listen and then to take action... We pay more and get less, start to give us what we pay for all we want is a fair service for a fair price...

Yes, I wondered this as well, if Aegis Wing said "Free for our customers in Washington State" (or similar) what would the response be? If customers in New York had no access to the Video Marketplace or customers in Nevada had to pay more for marketplace points and Live Gold subs.

Ofc, it's a slightly silly example, but the uproar would be incredible. Well, XBL is supposedly a global service, but is becoming less and less like one every day.

I personally read it as an indication of MS's current position in the "console war" - if they believe they can be that arrogant now, I hate to think what we've got to come.

Microsofts stance on other regions outside North America and specifically the USA:

'We cannot be bothered'.

Gee, thanks guys and gals. Discrimination against regions and customers will only lead to the attrition and segregation of the community.

If it wasn't for so many games being heavily reliant on Multiplayer for content (look at RSV and GRAW2 single player campaigns) and cheap live bundled with the vision cam I probably would have stopped using Live already.

It doesn't offer value for money especially when we are charged DOUBLE what the good folks in the states are charged.

What would the Americans say if the went down to the store tomorrow and Live 12 months costed $80 and games costed $100?

Utter rubbish, and no offense to Major as the messenger, but it's pretty clear how much MS thinks of anywhere outside NA with the lack of decent response.

The mere number of responses should have had a decent response quickly, as it's clear that this PR stunt has magnificently backfired.
