Considering all the HYPE around Halo 3 since last year, and only getting Computer generated game trailers for several months that looked like Halo 3 would be a "TRUE NEXT GEN TITLE" to have, I am sorely disappointed with this game and feel Microsoft and Bungie just took Halo 1 and Halo 2 and put it in a blender and ended up with Halo 2.5.

Everything really looks the same, with only slightly better frame rates, Slightly more vibrant colors and less aliasing.

Other than those minor updates, and weapons and movement additions it really is not what I thought I would see and play after all these months of waiting and buying into their marketing schemes.

And before anyone goes off on me, I played it on a 47inch big screen in 720p and 1080i and 1080p..

That makes it even more of a let down..Dont believe me,,,??? Pop in Halo 1 and Halo 2 and play them on your high definition television at 720p or your vga monitor, then load up the the Halo 3 beta...See what I mean???

And also,,Halo fans keep using the phrase, "it's only a beta, not the final version",,,this is something they are telling themselves because they just cant admit that they too are let down by the graphics, and still hold out all hopes of hopes that it really will look better when it hits shelves in September...GET OVER IT AND ACCEPT THAT FACT THAT IT WONT LOOK ANY BETTER!! I know as you can tell it upsets me too~~~~

What you see now is what you will see in September after waiting in line to snatch your copy...This beta is just to work out any bugs in the programming in reference to Multiplayer, and possibly any grahical glitches or framerate lag...You will not see a suddenly graphically improved or different game when you purchase your retail copy..

Microsoft and Bungie get a big fat " F " grade for bringing nothing new to the graphics table, and for not taking this game to a graphically superior level over its older versions..

With so many other titles taking advantage of the superior graphics capacity of the 360 this is a big let down.

Microsoft and Bungie went the way of investing less money, time and new inovation to produce what it feels will be enough of a different game to squeeze out a few more million from a slowly fizzling out series, that is only really riding on the popularity of Halo 1 & 2.

This is really a repeat of what happened when Halo 2 was being Hyped, only to see it was really Halo 1.5. Nothing really new just a little more continuation of a story and a few upgrades here and there.

Personally, I would rather have developers and programmers get my money, who bring something new to the table or put an effort into bringing a franchise into the next level of gaming, and give gamers as much as possible for their investment and faith that the next generation incarnation of a game will be just that,, NEXT GEN..!! Not a previous Generation, with only slight improvements, and no leap into next level of graphical capability.

I'll be putting my money into games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Assasins Creed, Quake Wars, The Darkness, Too Human,, and continued support of Gears of War, Lost Planet, and behind other developers and programers who are willing to work hard to give the gamer something new, with not only new innovative gameplay but also updated graphics that bring the whole thing closer to the day that games will look more like the CG scenes we all wish ingame graphics would mimic..

For me,, when graphics in a game look as good or near CG scenes, that is when you know a developer put alot of time and money behind talented ,top notch programmers, and made the best possible effort to give gamers something that they have never played or seen before.

I will give my money to Developers and programmers that will reward 360 owners for buying a 360 instead of a PS3 , and reward them for their investment in a High Definition Television to take advantage of what the 360 can render.

Microsoft and Bungie have millions of dollars at their disposal and the talents of hundreds of game designers and programers, to create what could have been the game of all games to show off the best graphics capabilities of their supposedly highly revered Next Gen console..

A game that matched as close as possible the HYPE they perpetuated for nearly a year to the gaming public and Fan base..

Instead they chose to give it a minor facelift and tummy tuck and hope everyone is still haloized enough to buy into the hype that the 3rd rendition of Halo is a must have, and can be called a next generation rendition of the Halo series! It is not a Next Gen version.. It is only Episode 3.

For me and I am sure alot of other Halo fans, it is not the must have I hoped it would be.

My money will be spent on games that take advantage of what my 360 and HD television have to offer considering the price tag these new devices came with.

Also the whole fiasco behind the beta delay, Crackdown crap, and codes not being received, speaks volumes of how poorly thought out this whole Halo 3 thing really is, and this is all not about giving Halo Fans and supporters the best they deserve,, but about motives that are only profit driven to take advantage of a user base.

Dear Major Nelson,

With anticipation I look forward to the day that Halo 3 will be on the shelves.

My friends and I are gamers of the polite and social kind that love to hunt each other down as we talk about whatever is on our minds.

Halo 2 has been great in communicating with friends abroad, as we speak about the old days when we used to run around in the streets, as opposed to

a virtual world.

As a great and humble admirer of everything Halo, I would like to ask you to lobby to incorporate a feature to make our lives easier.

Whenever we are not close to each other in the game, we need to press the white button to communicate.

That is a nice touch, but we often forget, and have a lot to talk about.

We believe it would greatly enhance our enjoyment of the game if the host could select an option in which he could arrange the settings so that everybody would hear each other at all times, without using the white

button.

Could you and your team of brilliant people please consider to have this implemented by Bungie?

Thank you in advance for your willingness to read this, and thank Bungie for the undoubtedly great new adventures that will come our way.

Now that we're past the frenzy of the crackdown fiasco, we've hopefully all gotten to play the beta. My impressionss far:

• This is a beta, and looks VERY polished considering its ont the final game

• I've played final games that didn't play this smooth, nor look this good.

• Most of us are going to play H3 multiplayer TO DEATH, so that's where the game needs to be stable and run smooth.

• No, the graphics don't blow me away, but I didn't expect them to.

• Can't wait to play the hell out of the released version!

• I own a PS3 AND a Wii and a 360. My PS3 is gathering dust, the novelty of the Wii has worn off. My 360 is the system I play NOT BECAUSE I'M A FAN BOY, but because it's the best system on the market today and it's the most fun.

okay you stoopid little halo fanboys i know it aint about graphics for i have played halo 1 and 2 and its fun as hell with halo graphics the point im trying to make is that it doesnt look next gen period everybody can see that the beta is overal fun for them because graphics arent everything. i understand this! and for the guy who said its a 2 year old pc thats a lame excuse because 4th 5th generation games look better than first and second generation games. but yea when some guy who worked on the game he said theres nothing better in halo 3 multi than snping someone in mid air after they jumped outta the base!! wow thats not saying much for its multiplayer.all you halo fanboys are gonna be jelous when those better games come out!!

I also plan on going to our mall's (visit PA, Major! :P) midnight launch decked out in this gear so I can get beaten by a bunch of tough guys. I plan on taking a few pics too. The midnight release they had for Halo 2 was pretty interesting and was the first time I've seen lines going out of the freakin' mall. There were a couple MS reps there too handing out coupons for Subway, lol. Anyway, yeah, can't wait for Halo 3, yay.
