The lack of game modes is the only downfall.

Dont be offended. Dont be hateful!

I only play FPS games. I love it. If they ever make an RPG version for 360, I might try it just because I like the FPS so much.

This game is GREAT as is! If you want an RPG, just let MS know.

Have fun!

Buy Res!

This game, whatever your opinions of how much fun it is, is NOT Shadowrun. Where are the actual Shadowruns from the game? You know... the part that it's named after?

When they first announced the game was being made I was in heaven. All Shadowrun fans were excited. Until they announced that it was a multiplayer only shooter. I admit it, I was turned off long before the game came out, but I tried the demo and wanted to see if I could find something I liked. But there's nothing there to like IMO. Sure it has some parts that are great. We all know by now that gliders, teleporting etc are great fun in the game... but then what? Small amount of maps, no matter how big they are is just insane. You make an online only shooter and skimp on the maps and play modes? I don't get it.

Around 20 years of history with the deep PnP RPG and the devs decide to slap together what looks and plays like an unfinished FPS? If they had left off the name and built up their own storyline and world (and perhaps dropped $10-$20 from the price this game would be a HUGE success. Right now it will burn bright for a couple of months and then fade away.

SHADOWRUN is not an RPG.

SO GET OVER IT!

There is no beter FPS out there for the 360!

I waited to play the demo, because I wasn't sure about it. After playing it I ran out and bought the full version which is even better. It's awesome. I've not experienced hardly any lag as of yet. It deals with disconnections in much the way Halo's interface is setup which is pretty cool. Well worth the money I.M.O.

Graphics: Really people, since when was it such a big deal how a game looks? Sure, there are standards (and no, GoW is not a standard!) but Shadowrun looks great! Not all games have to be realistic looking..I like the Crackdownish look alot

Content: Yes, theres no single player...but seriously, not every game needs to be the same as all the others...think counter-strike. It is shy on Maps and game modes...but if you have actually played the maps offered, you would know how in depth they are...seriously, some levels feel like theres a level within a level! And the different character races and magic/tech make up for the lack of game types...in all honesty, Gears didnt really offer much in the game type category either...and they sure didnt have teleport!

Gameplay: If you actually give this game a shot, you will found out that it has much to offer...sure, not everyone will like it, but it will rule xbox live till sept 25 without a doubt

Of course I could buy the game for cheaper but the example I'm giving is the top end price of RRP which is what Microsoft 'recommends' to its retailers to sell the game for. At the end of the day yes they may decide to sell for cheaper, competition etc. bringing prices down, but at the end of the day £50 is the RRP.

re: Demo: Shadowrun

As a comparison on Shadowrun's value, a game like Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was released at $60 originally on the 360 and shipped with 16 /very large/ and complex maps that to this day provide the game with tons of depth and variety. Also, it was a very polished, complete game with a single-player campaign, sophisticated online setup with clans, etc.

Shadowrun is a good game, and as others have said the core title has many good selling points, but as a stripped-down multiplayer only client with 9 maps... no. There's just no value here. It's sad, as this would have been a great chance to test the real power of DLC sales - release Shadowrun at a price of $30 say, and announce that map and expansion packs would come out every month at $5 for six months to keep the game refreshed. Deals like that. Nobody is going to believe this game cost as much to develop as Gears of War or even something like Battlefield 2.

Also, Shadowrun is very much not polished in a number of areas - even basic stuff like animation: nobody could even be bothered to sit down and create a ladder-climbing sequence, resulting in characters magically floating up in the air without moving their legs? This is alpha-state stuff folks. By contrast, the Halo 3 beta, which is a true beta and highly incomplete, is far more polished that a retail game title we have here, and a first-party published one at that.

Please take this as constructive criticism. There's nothing in Shadowrun that couldn't be fixed with some title updates, even, I would assume, adding in a few more animation scripts to tighten up the game visually. But, this is a relatively poor state in which to release a much-advertised retail title with over a year in development.
