Kudos to 'e' for being such a video geek (only a true video geek dislikes people using S-VHS to refer to the S-Video connector) and not talking down to the audience (unlike another un-named individual who appeared on the same show. ;->) You should consider visiting the gamescore blog lunchtime conversation as guest video-geek... they're not good with consumer video stuff... (Hear their response to an "HDCP on Xbox360" question on show #13 :-P [gamerscoreblog.com/.../544319.aspx] )

So 'e', should I get the CAV or CLV version of movies for my laserdisc player? Seriously... could you go into some more detail as to why the licensing is different for upconverting DVD's past 480p on Component vs. VGA outputs? Patent issues?!? And why isn't there an overscan adjustment built into the Xbox360? (so I can compensate for the horrible overscan on my CRT based HD-RPTV that I can't correct even with access service menu settings due to convergence limitations.) Is it due to licensing issues as well?

great show major thx... I like it wehen you do the longer shows but actually the second intervew was bit too long.

There's one thing I aksed myself since i listened to the first show: why is there always this huge break before the after show ?

I also agree. Game reviewers suck. But since I believe that none of them are on target at all I just don't waste my time with them. Other people should follow my example!

Great Show. Liked the shadow run interview, a game designer who loves his project, and will defend it to his death, thank you Mitch, for making a great game and to your crew, (more game modes needed) and more people to play from my friends list.

Great 101 this week 'e'. Not everyone who has a 360 is an audiophile/videophile, so you highlighted the differences very well... but don't forget about us in Europe where we have the Scart cable, (en.wikipedia.org/.../Scart), which is better than composite but not as good as component.

Does anyone else round the world have any other connections?

Keep up the good work, and how about explaining audio capabilities, (Dolby Digital, RCA vs Toslink, etc), next time.

E made a mistake with the cable information. To use the component cable you do NOT need to move the switch to HDTV to use the component connection. It will display 480I through the component only, but it does provide better picture then S-Video.

Great show this week. Awesome interviews with Duane Colbert & Mitch Gitelman.

I don't think Mitch came off as whiny at all. He was defending his work, his passion, as best he could. I purchased it release day without ever playing before and luckily, I love the game. I do however think the publishers should discuss price points more with the developers or take more things into considering when pricing because without him really telling us what is coming, I am not so sure about the 3 years of value he was mentioning. I just hope he points out to his superiors that the scores are only low because of that high price point.

Nice Xbox 101 this week.

Oh, and yes you need to keep 'e' on the show. He is a nice balance in the show that I enjoy (though he is a little insane with the whole Espresso thing but hey, if I loved em and had the $ I might do the same).

hey Major. you should ask the PCGAMGER guys to VS you guys on Shadowrun. they've been playing it and have actually played it with 360 gamers at FASA offices a while back.

I also have a question for 'e'.

i have a sony tv with a DVI connection and i want to be able to upscale my HDDVD's to 1080i. Can i buy a VGA 360 Connection and a VGA/DVI adapter and have that upscale my HDDVD's? can i even upscale to 1080i?

E might just be a TEEEEENY bit elitist about his espresso. I mean, if he likes what he likes, then good for him..but I can drink Coffee Beanery despite the fact it S U C K S compared to a lot of other coffee houses out there.

Mitch? Was that his name from Shadowrun? I'm sorry, but he sort of ruined Shadowrun for me, believe it or not. He came off as a little too whiny, a little too combative, and a little bitchy. I respect those that have passion for their games, but Shadowrun wasn't ever widely considered 'art' as he seems to assume we take it as. It's a fun demo. I can't see spending the money on buying it anymore than I could see spending money on seeing Wild Hogs in the theater. free demo=free TBS showing. Both are fine for me.

Oh and lastly, Mitch, don't be surprised to hear fans griping about the complete lack of Shadowrun single player. Just go back and look at how even FANS bitched about the single player that DID exist in Halo 2. That's legendary, and I repeat; that was from the FANS.

i gotta admit mitch came across as more whiney than explanitory. rather than explain whats goin on he basically blamed everyone else.

I played the demo and I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it to the point that I was going to buy it. however I was persuaded not to by the price tag. so I decided to carry on playing the demo until the price went down. after a week the price was reduced from £50 to £32 and I was ready to buy, I was even telling friends that they HAD to have this game because its cheap and its a great multiplayer.

then we all had a game on the demo and slowly but surely we all discovered just how monotonous the game is. We played 3 games and deleted the demo from our systems. The game is good but there is really no excuse in what they did in terms of content. I'm sure no one would have cared if the game was delayed to develop more maps, people would be happy with that.

The game is good, but his claims that people will be playing it 3 years is a bold statement to make with such little content under a £30 and $60 price tag and no doubt will be charging more for maps and additional content.
