major since its a silver profile when you rotate shadowrun in only PC users on it. no cross platform dediaction? i think you can talk e in to accidentlly giving it a gold account.

Where and on what kind of connection are you hosting your servers?

I'd like to host a Shadowrun dedicated server. Unfortunately, I would be breaking my ISP's Terms of Service if I did. Shadowrun's dedicated server only runs on Windows Vista.

I pay hundreds of dollars a month to lease Windows 2003 servers from datacenters to host video game servers. But Shadowrun won't run on them. I would have at least three (much needed) Shadowrun servers up and running if I were technically able to. Unfortunately, I can not because Shadowrun's dedicated server will not run on Windows Server 2003.

Even if I could lease a Window's Vista box on a high speed connection at a data center, I'd have to create an .iso of the DVD and upload the files to the server. There's no stand-alone dedicated server installation program. The DVD must be in the DVD drive to install. Obviously the designers intended on Shadowrun dedicated servers running from the connection on which the owner of the game plays.

Something else that stinks about Shadowrun's dedicated servers: you can't earn achievements in them.

You need to Have Shadowrun on Vista to see the dedicated server list.... Although you can get on them if someone on Vista invites you :)

You have to laugh really ...

Trying to encourage people to buy Vista by releasing a 2nd rate shooter (Shadowrun) and an old old game that is distinctly inferior to other PC shooters on the market now ...

Also, the specs required to play Halo 2 are laughable ... it should run easily on older equip - but you need an 8800GTS to even get the thing to stop stuttering ... absolute madness ...

Interested to see what other games are planned for PC Live release ... probably have FIFA 2004 re-released soon :p

Yah I didnt see any options in ShadowRun to choose what server to join (other then joining a friends server) . . . so here's hoping to randomly join Majors ! 8-)

I could have, of course, missed that particular option somewhere.

Maybe it's part of the new patch ?!?!?!?

Shadowrun is great. Too bad they turned off Achievements on decicated servers for some reason. :(
