Well ... looks like I won't be buying beautiful katamari after all. I should really learn that when developers list 'download extra content!' as a feature and think I ought to be excited, it really means I shouldnt buy the game at all because it will likely mean a limited experience tainted by copious microtransactions and the lingering feeling that i'm paying MSRP not on a game but on a gateway purchase (and an expensive one at that).

I'd have to agree with the above poster. I find myself visiting the blog far less often since it is soo cluttered with marketplace releases now. Make a separate blog for them, please! thanks-

Hey Major, this is my first time posting a comment. I come here often and I enjoy most of your blogs. I do have a suggestion however. Your blog seems to get VERY cluttered with the marketplace releases and things of that nature. Since you are posting those on almost a regular basis you should just create a "marketplace roundup" section so those of us that don't really bother with those can just enjoy reading the personality that shows through in most of your other blogs. What a shame that a great series like Katamari has de-evolved into this. Reviewers say the game takes them 3 hours to complete; now we find out we have to pay substantially extra for more levels. The game's creator must be rolling around in his Katamari-paid-for home.

The DLC is just an unlocker. The content is already on the disc. And I believe they are whole new levels...Or new parts to existing levels. But I am almost positive that it is not just a different mission using levels we already played.

DLC is for extra content, not for squeezing extra money out of fans. It's times like these that I'm extra thankful for Gamefly.

Looks like the Katamari content is not available outside of Asia yet. I'll post an update when it is. I made an edit to my post to reflect that.

800 points isn't too bad for four more levels in Katamari. I paid the same for Gears of War's four map pack.

Almost 10am EST though and I still don't see the levels on the marketplace :( I still need to finish the original levels first anyway..

Definately makes sense why the game was only $40. *chuckle* But I'm not complaining about the d-loads. I'm actually happy to see they are doing things like this for the game. Now....if it were actually available.....

Yeah still not seeing the Katamari content either.

Also the Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground Gamer Picture Pack 1 has some issues. The Bam Margera pic is in it twice so one of the other skaters is missing and at times the gamerpic you are using won't be the right one. For instance I am using Bam but when I compare achievements to a friends the gamerpic is Burnquist.
