No, you don't need the guitar, you can use the controller. Frets 1-LT 2-LB 3-RB 4-RT 5-A

the songs are above if you read in discripition you also dont need the guitar and you dont get a free lesspaul :P

I was on the fence if I should buy GH3 but now I am sold, this version seems to be much sharper looking than GH2 and it was really a blast to play. Also this will tide me over untill Rock Band comes out ;-)

I like all the people that complain 'what a waste of a demo - why did they put this up for people to download, i don't have a guitar controller' - yeah i guess they shouldn't release the demo for the 100s of thousands of us that do have the controller man, people complain about any and every item uploaded to live, i just don't get it... like the new design major, but not a big fan of the 10 the comments limit per page, i wouldn't expect most people don't bother to go off the first page, but you never know :)

Wow I beat all the songs on expert and it took me a good 10 times to beat the metal by tenacious d and now my hand hurts with joy.

I am so disappointed that GH sucks at picking songs for their games. Dont get me worng...I am a huge Pearl Jam fan, but evenflow and life wasted arent their best songs. get Alive or LBC or something that is more classic stone/eddie stuff.

This demo serves little purpose when I don't even own a guitar. Playing any GH game with a controller sucks and is near impossible.
