even though uk getting shafted on release again.....

just want to say, BIG, BIG thumbs up for harmonix here for these brilliant priced DLC'S, if nothing else it will show the bloody clowns at activision how it SHOULD BE done, and hey who knows they MAY even lower there prices, or god forbid put single packs out.......aghhhh we can dream I suppose....

Why USA only ???? We also have the game in Canada!!! Not the bundle but at least we can play with our old GH2 guitars. I want my Metallica !!!!

I'm interested in knowing if these are exclusive. I know they're completely different files but is there a chance that we'll see some of these (specifically that Metallica pack for now) on Guitar Hero 3? It would make sense for the bands to look for 2X the licensing. I'll probably get a RB drum/game pack if thats ever available separately but I won't be getting that full box set when most of my gaming friends don't live in the same city as me anymore.

CMON! I drove down to Buffalo from Toronto, grabbed a Rock Band box and drove back only to find that the DC is only available in the USA (for now)???? Why can't they just release it across the board so the morons who took a day off work and got it in the US can at least enjoy the fruit of their labor (or should I say lobour?).

Help us Canucks! I mean, isnt our loony worth more? Take advantage of the exchange rate guys...

I don't see why everyone voted these low because the game has a LOT of songs already and these extra ones are just for people who think " Well this game needs more Metallica or The Police " and it is way better than Guitar Hero. Plus not only are these songs a little bit cheaper but they all let you do vocals/drums/guitar/bass.

I never purchased DLC for GH because of the pricing and how they force you to take 3 songs in a bunch. Even though I'm not a big fan of EA's love to offer DLC I have to give them props for this one. Pricing is reasonable, ability to select singles is fantastic. I picked up the Metallica pack yesterday. It's great!

Ugh - in the US, have the game, but use a Canadian Live account. These will be out in the Canadian store when the game launches there. Right? RIGHT? I want to give you my money but you won't let me!

So not only is the game region locked, the content is region locked too?!

Great. Not only do I have to wait until April or something to play this game, not only will it be almost certainly exclusively in one language (with the awful translation that always accompanies localization), not only will the disc contain different songs in each country (meaning there's some songs I'll never play no matter what I do), it's pretty much certain that song packs will be region locked to each European country too. That also means that by the time each song pack has cleared certification for my country, we'll be talking about the successor to the 360.

(IF EA ever bothers to even certify it - not ever going to see claims of poor sales after which we can forget song packs, no siree not ever going to happen.)

This is a giant middle finger to all potential European customers, to which I reply with the same: screw you, Harmonix and screw you, EA. Keep your stupid game if you're so interested in not selling it.

Suck it down, Activision, Red Octane, and Guitar Hero. This is how you do DLC. More reasonable prices, and more choices on how you want to purchase it.

Not to mention better songs, but I suppose that's subjective.

you know what......yup I bet folks here have bitched about these packs, but heres my 2 cents.

ok iam the co host of "cranky gamers uk" podcast, and can I just say although I commend the pricing structure of these, and if it serves no better purpose than to get activision off there lazy assses, then thats a great thing.

however, Iam sorry, but been said here already iam sure, but for europe/uk not to even have bloody clue about a release date let alone any DLC, is to be quite honest bordering on the criminal.

what with harmonix absolutely fleecing everyone here for the actual hardware, (saying you can only buy full products only weeks before release, is simply not exceptable), and with the put back of even a Canadian release date now to, lets just say it just leaves a very very bitter taste in the mouth.

and put all that along with the fact they wont let you even buy individual instruments until february in the USA, (is it just me that seems bothered that february is being said again here)I just see an announcement for a big delay for us as regards all this.

anyway, like i say pricing is ok, just the fact of world release times is appalling to say the least......harmonix, at least give us a concrete date for us??
