Great game, Got in on PC cause i just like the mouse with Team Fortress 2 compared to the Xbox controller.

Getting error msg here too. They used to specifically say "for gold members only" like with the Armored Core 4 and Shrek demo's that released earlier this year, what happened to that? BTW The Orange Box is a steal for all the games included, hoping to get it for xmas (fingers crossed). There's a neat little flash version of portal I found here www.newgrounds.com/.../404612 if anyone's interested.

wth are you talking about? I think its one of the best looking games out there! The level design alone makes the world feel alive. I dunno what part is in the demo. But believe me when I say that Episode 2 is one of the best looking games on 360. Perhaps you are not into first person games? You get a puzzler a fast paced action multiplayer and 24 hours of the best singleplayer FPS out there so I honestly don't know what more you could possibly want.

bored, the source engine is looking really dated now. i like the attempt at self shadowing but it just isn't upto the high standards of the rest of the x360's AAA titles in art.

the music is non existent, that works in hitman/splintercell but any game wanting me to wander around solving phys puzzles had better do something to entertain me aurally.

i know half life 2 was never particularly shiny, but it had it's moments, the x360 version just looks flat and dull. the cubemaps i did see weren't great.

i hope the game offers a lot more than this because i never realy liked half life 2, and the other bits are just icing on a cake i don't want. if i see it for $30 Aud then it's a maybe. otherwise no

Portal demo wouldn't really be worth it. Playing the total game is a great experience though. If there was just one of the early levels in a demo you might find it boring. There's only like 19 levels or something, so you couldn't put too many in the demo. Maybe a sandbox level with the portal gun to learn some tricks would be good.

Can't download it either, I've 'only' got a silver account too. I sure hope this isn't a change of policy on Microsoft's side I have no intention to get a gold account, it really doesn't appeal to me. Is this a known problem that's being worked on or are we just being left in the dark?

while i dont agree with the whole two tier crap i understand that if that's what ms want to do them there's nothing i can do to stop them, i do think they should have at least stated that this demo was only restricted to gold user. that they do this is bad enough but to do it and not even acknowledge they're doing it? that's low even for ms.
