After playing the demo several times, i feel that there is an enormous amount of room for emergent gameplay. I'm really looking forward to playing as the different classes and figuring out tactics and whatnot. It tries to be realistic like in G.R.A.W., ...awkward turning, strong recoil in automatic mode.

You can blow up enemy strong holds, like sandbag bunkers, and machine gun emplacements, even concrete barriers. So hiding behind sandbags, and debris wont help you for long if your going up against someone with grenades.

the remote controlled gadgets are very fun. i tried a remote controlled helecopter, armed with rockets, and a RC car that you can explode at any time , very helpful in clearing enemy strong holds.

this game could have very fun multiplayer, but its like battlefield, not really fun unless your playing 15 on 15, which requires proper servers with huge amounts of bandwidth.

so playing large games on the 360 are going to suffer from SUPER LAG.

also, the game runs in full screen, if you have a 4:3 aspect ratio tv. so if you play on a monitor with the vga cable, you are going to be using the weird resolution with lower frame rates that strains your eyes.

What the hell? You guys don't know what you are talking about, this demo was awesome. Yeah, there are some problems, those drone controls ar aweful, but the game on the whole was sweet. If you didn't like it then I suggest you give up on gaming becuase you obviously don't know a good game when you see it.

re: Demo: Frontlines: Fuel of War

Hi all, Mr. Kaos as well.

I've enjoyed the demo, played it through twice now and will definitely keep an eye out for the retail version. I'm no leetist who needs to feel better by putting down successful games nor am a some sort of savant who can judge a game after a few seconds or minutes. I'm probably in the demographic who will actually buy and play the game online. Mr Kaos, I bring four concerns, 1) Enemy AI which reflects the state of the game when this demo code was sliced off, nuff said. 2) The Flying remote mechanics are fine, but the land-based vehicles such as the RC bomb vehicle (I can't stop the fishtailing), and the Tank which I had big difficulty controlling and keeping off walls - I just hope those will be worked over. I never thought of (Halo's) Warthogs as sports vehicles, but these two vehicles in the demo made the `hogs seem that way. 3) I had difficulty distinguishing enemies from friendlies, sometimes the reticule does not change to red until the second pass-over of a target. This was most noticeable near the end of the demo when you are in the tank near that radio tower after crossing the bridge. 4) There is a ton of equipment to use in this game, looks like you squeezed everything you could out of the few buttons on the controller. In the dog-shoot-dog world of online gaming, I can see myself a) Picking a specialty and b) Really relying on teamwork and coordination. I do hope this gets addressed in the multiplayer mode. So, THANKS FOR THE DEMO! In this case it's made me more interested in the game and I hope you have the time to make it a really good game.

re: Demo: Frontlines: Fuel of War

I love(d) the demo... played through several times with different tactics and planning on going in again and trying another approach.

The only framerate drop I noticed was when getting out of the chopper when the game starts.

Controls were absolutely fine for me. I never noticed any screen tearing but maybe that's because I play in 720p?

The graphics look amazing to me but then I haven't played GOW or HALO3 so I can't compare it.

Still... to me everything felt as it should be. I want this game and I want it now :)

re: Demo: Frontlines: Fuel of War

well I would download it if microsoft didn't decide that although I'm 17 and can BUY the game... I cant download the demo. I have all the family settings set to allow, and yet no demo... Honestly, Microsoft I understand you are trying to protect underage kids from accessing content that is unsuitable for them... but people who are of the age to buy mature games should be able to do as they please. You are not the ones who decide what games we are and are not allowed to play. Our parents are. So, either remove this flaw in the update, or allow a parent account to allow child accounts to purchase certain content. Either way, the ps3 is looking better and better everyday this nonsense continues.

re: Demo: Frontlines: Fuel of War

I was definitely not impressed with the demo at all. If this is an early version then why bother releasing it when it'll only put people off buying the full product? The controls aren't too hot, the framerate is poor with hitching and screen tearing and the whole thing just feels very uninspired and bland to me, a cross between GRAW and Halo. I didn't even like the cutscenes. Sorry but even if this is improved technically, it still wouldn't interest me. Played it for 15 minutes, can't say I enjoyed one second of it to be honest. Quit the demo and promptly deleted it. There are far better games on the way to bother with mediocre stuff like this. Sorry!
