I'm slowly working my way through my 84 arcade games to see which ones don't work even when connected to live. I'm doing this because my friend asked me to help him with Streets of Rage. I fired it up and... Unlock full version. EVEN WHEN ON LIVE. All Sega games seem to do it. Speedball 2 is the same, and Puzzle Quest.. And thats a bloody 1200 point game. So Major, what do have to say about the DRM now, when I cant even play whilst following your draconian rules?

This issue was initially found in February of 06. 23 months later, the answer is still the same "we are working on it". Yeah, right... How hard is it to change the serial number when they send my console back to me? They change it on my warranty, but they can't change it for the DRM.

I guess the people 'working on' the DRM issue are as bright as the dead horses we all have to beat to get an answer, taking so long to figure it out.

With 30+ titles bought(rented)that I have paid over $200usd and going through my 4th 360 it makes sick that I can only play 1 game if my system is not live. How is this good support. All this accomplished is to find a better option. I know the PS3 has the same rules but at least my system hasn't craped out after normal use. Microsoft is blowing there goodwill with lots of faulty hardware and terrible service rules. Do the right thing Microsoft but until then BOYCOTT

it's funny you mention how you had family members who can't play games they have saves for because of the DRM crap. It's happened to me as well. I actually set a high score for Gauntlet(by now I'm probably bumped into the 20s or so) and then a little while after that I couldn't play it. See this was before I had my own 360 and used my brothers when he wasn't on it. It was pretty frustrating.

Just read the article about you over on Reuters. I'm so glad the real media is finally talking about you. You deserve every glowing word they wrote about you!! To many of us, though, it is a HUGE deal. Whether it's because you purchased an upgraded console (like an Elite) or had a console exchanged during a repair, the DRM issue causes two problems:

1. Profiles on a hard drive that weren't used to purchase content can't access it. That means my family members who previously had saved games and achievements for XBL content can no longer access the game at all. It's in "Trial Mode" for them.

2. My profile, which WAS used to purchase the content, can only access that content when connected to XBL. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal -- but with the outages and stability over the last 7-10 days, it IS a big deal.

We had purchased a LOT of XBL Arcade games and content... and it's been months since we could rightly access what we paid for. Why would I spend another nickel when Microsoft, the XBL team, and Major Nelson are all non-responsive on the issue?

Boycott or not, this isn't a matter of a few "whiners" or "cry-babies" as I've seen mentioned in various comments. It's a problem.
