I have no problem with Blu Ray winning, I just wish they would win NOW. I purchased the HD-DVD add-on a while ago, but then saw that it was on the losing side, so I kept my purhcases to a minimum. I have a PS3 and also kept my purchases of Blu Ray movies to a minimum. This is the attitude that they DON'T want and is why a clear winner is so important: So we can get on with it.

The biggest down side to Blu Ray is that their movies are WAY more expensive than HD. I think that was what was keeping HD in the race at first. Blu Ray needs to be more economical to really make an impact. I have started buying normal DVDs again, simply because Blu Ray discs are upwards of $30, which is rediculous. They should be the same price as DVDs if they want people to switch over.

Well it seems to me that Microsoft's gamble of not supporting one of the HD dvd formats out of the box is about to result in a flop for the gaming system as a whole. Since more Blu-Ray discs will now be sold, there will be more of a push to get people on the PS3 and thus there will be more ps3's in the wild, which will lead more gaming companies to want to work with the ps3.

In short, I'm afraid with Live screwing up, the reasons to stay with MS keep on dwindling... So you'll probably get rebanned on the 11th :0P

@ John Q Taxpayer. I sort of agree about it not doing much, but I see that I have had money stolen from me if I cant use the product I've paid for, and if just one extra person becomes aware of the DRM crap and doesn't buy anymore form M$ then it's worth a few mins at the keyboard... It's not as if Live is working properly. There have been a few posts on the other forum from people that weren't aware of how they will get screwed over the second their machine fails and are thinking twice about buying more stuff.

I whole-heartdly agree with your no purchase ideal. I would love to be sat playing Mass Effect, Assasins Creed, and Sega Rally, but I have decided to get the most out of my half finshed games before M$ gets another penny out of me.

And if by the time I want to spend more money on games the DRM isn't fixed, or at least a statement saying it WILL be fixed, then I can see all future multi format purchses being for PS3, and I really dont like the PS3 pad :( I love my 360, I used to stick up a lot for the Xbox and the 360, but this is really turning me against M$. Every day without a comment from them is like another nail in the coffin for the machine from me and many other users.

With the BD news, MS had seriously better come up with some good reasons not to switch to PS3 now.

I wish I could enjoy live being down, but my 360 got the rrod on Jan 1st. I'm still waiting for the coffin to send it back, it's taking way to long. At least they're giving a month of live to compensate for the month you don't have a console. I did by a ps3 a week ago, been playig ut3. And let me tell you compared to the 360 it sucks. Try playing ctf on ut3, no one has mic's, it's like going back to 1999 on the pc. Even with live broken it's better than this.

I too agree that Live being broken is a big problem. Also, DRM is a pain, but....
