DRM is an acronym for Digital Rights Management. Basically, it's an anti-piracy measure for digital download product such as music or games. In the case of the Xbox 360, DRM kicks in whenever you try to use content you purchased off of the Xbox Live Marketplace on a different console then the one you made the purchase off of. In order to use this content, your Gamertag must be logged in to Xbox Live. This is how the DRM verifies that the content licenses you purchased belong to you. If you are not connected, then your content will have limited functionality or none at all.

If your console is constantly connected to the Internet, then this probably won't be a big deal for you. However, for those who don't have a constant connection to the Internet or have had multiple consoles replaced my Microsoft due to hardware failure, this can be a real pain in the ***.

Not to mention that devices such as the iPod and the Playstation 3 have a more lenient method of DRM enstated. This is why you're hearing so much complaining over it. And rightfully so, if you ask me.

@CoolguyKris83 - Well, you can't get upset at us for jumping all over you when you open your post with "For you DRM babies". Interesting that you'd label us like that when you have the same problems yourself.

@StoopidApe - More than two years of discussion on the topic have gone on over at the Xbox.com forums. I don't think this will be changing anytime soon. So, you'll forgive me if I'm spending my time trying to convince people why they shouldn't just continue to throw money at Microsoft.

Currently, I want to purchase several Rock Band tracks, Omega Five, Rez HD, Psychonauts, and a few other things, but I won't until this gets fixed. That's about $50 worth of sales that they're missing just because of this asinine scheme, and that's just from me. I should keep a running tally.

Does this happen for anybody else on this site: You click the link to a different page of comments, and the first page comes back up. It just seems to happen randomly to me. I've had it happen in IE, Safari, and Firefox on two different computers. Anybody else getting that or no?

@cutriss...dude you should still have respect for gamers that want to talk about the DL pack. seeing how your expecting Microsoft to give us gamers the respect we deserve and fix the DRM issue. so please take this DRM discussion back to the xbox forums and maybe you will get want you want.....back to the topic though, i really think that once the "masses" catch on to how crappy GH3 is when compared to RB,GH3 will be no more, i mean look at these prices when compared to RB especially when you get drums and vocals
