After swearing off Nintendo after they ditched their promises of online play with the GameCube, on Tuesday during their press conference, I decided to get a Wii.

I will buy a Wii as soon as the system is $200 or less, and Ubisoft's, 'Red Steel' is out on the system (or the new Mario game).

Thanks Major for all the work this week. These past few days have been some of the best in my life, and I wasn't even there!

Another reason why Microsoft would side with Nintendo against Sony: The Wii (I shudder every time I type that word) doesn't contain a hi-def disc player, so it's neutral as far as the whole HD-DVD/Blu-Ray war goes. The Xbox 360 and the Wii (shudder) are both DVD-based systems.

And let's face it: Between the Xbox 360 and the Wii (shudder), you pretty much have the entire spectrum of gaming covered... the Xbox 360 for the adult gamers, and the Wii (shudder) for the kiddies. (Of course, there's some crossover between the two.) The PS3 kinda falls in the middle... the high price tag for a properly-equipped PS3 (let's not even mention their craptastic "Core" version) will deter a LOT of people.

If Microsoft can manage to drop the price of the 360 by $50 to $100 by the time the PS3 launches, they can pick up a LOT of disappointed would-be PS3 buyers come this holiday season.

I really don't see why there is even an arguement over which system you should buy. If you have a young kid and don't want him/her to saw someone in half (Gears of War) get the Wii and if you don't have a kid, or don't care if they learn about the internal organs of humans in a more graphic manner than a science book picture, get the 360. For one the 360 has a three core processor which gives it a cpu speed three times faster than the ps3(3.2 GHz for the ps3), secondly it has a state of the art graphics processor with its Unified Shader Architechture(sp?) and its ability to share memory between the system ram and graphics processor memory, and lastly, and for some the most improtant, its got Xbox Live. So as I said intially, why pay 600USD for a piece of hardware when you can get something thats at least twice as good for 200 less????? Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that the 360 has Master Chief, nuff said.

Microsoft and Nintendo may have won who have best next gen console. But are their stilling losing the Proganda war againist Sony.
Too many game magazines and gamer website are to much favor for PS3.
Most editorials are proclaiming that PS3 already won the Next Gen Console War.
If Microsoft and Nintendo want defeat the evil empire.
They must have first win the war of proganda againist Sony.

i love the fast Microsoft respect Wii ... why cause they were not arogant like SONY was last year and nintendo stay away from stupid Sony attacks pointed to M$ and Nintendo... i really woul like to see this console war lead by NINTENDO and M$ rather than Sony.. why? cause i am sick of Sony brainwash us with things that isnt lookin as they told at the end. neither ps3 is superior neither it is breathtaking... at the end.. it is not eaven better than 360 and hey M$ got best LIVE support on planet and sony can just be jaleous and nothin else.. they have LONG way to catch M$ live support... this hollyday i will replace me lovely xbox1 with new 360 and forza 2 and wheel.... and yet have money to spend on some things :)

major by any chance does newtek plan to put new smaller cpu based x360 for hollyday season or?

I have an xbox 360 and it is pretty cool to me, everyone is saying ps3 is better. It might have slightly higher specs in some areas BUT COME ON! Are we forgetting xbox live? I got it recently and spend all of my xbox quality time on it. I think back to when i had an xbox without live and now as i look back i cant imagine myself sitting infront of the xbox and playing all by myself! i must of been a loser! and also people are saying that ps2 was better than xbox?! what!? not only did xbox have funner games like say...halo..halo2 and many others it also had much higher specs, over double spec of the ps2 and the gamecube in terms of gaming came 2nd because sony couldnt get a decent game for their console if they tried. and all the people saying sonys gameplay on the ps3 will be the best. WHAT ARE U ON?! the xbox 360(HALO3.......drool) and the wii of course(download any n64 snes or nes game and quite a few gamecube apparently....zelda twilight princess for the wii-look on www.gamespot.com if u dont believe me, metroid for the wii and the amazing controller, not to mention super smash bros brawl....ooooo) for me the wii and xbox360 are tied top overall and the ps3 is a piece of rubbish, all sony did was stick everyones ideas into a great big ugly lump.talkin about everyone elses ideas, sony have redesigned their controller so it is not a boomerang anymore, and have stuck in the wiis direct pointing device and motion sensors...... bastards..(ha! no rumble though as they say the rumble feature will mess with the motion sensor!)(the wii does have rumble though because sony are pooie)

I love my 360 but if I were to buy a second system, I would buy a Wii. I'd buy a Wii because it is cheaper than buying a PS3 and I would buy it just for Animal Crossing II. I got a wife and baby to support. I doubt I could get a PS3 past my family's approval committee if you know what I mean, Major Nelson...

I think I'll get a Thwii60 myself. Possibly the PS3, but way down the line when they establish themselves and the price has droped to a comfortable range. I just really want a price drop and a bigger hard drive for the 360, and it would be really good.

Breaking news - the PS3 'cheap' version DOES NOT SUPPORT WIRELESS CONTROLLERS. Gamers will have to used wired controllers for the 'cheaper' model.
