What about new DEMOS? Screw all these pics and themes. DEMOS. Not DEMOS from games that have been out since launch either. Release DEMOS b4 games launch.

I don't remember downloads being advertised as "Region specfific" when the Xbox 360 hype machine was in full effect before the launch.

Honestly, if i were you Major, i would start banning people that comment just to *** about something.

No-one forces you to download anything from xbl, hell! you don't even have to connect if you don't want to. The point of these trailers is:
1) a valuable source of income for MS. How much higher do you think the gold subscription would be if they didn't get this capital? This is keeping your gold account the same for a whole years worth of gaming online, as the price of a brand new game. Heck, cheaper than a new game in the U.K.
2) a 'there if you want it' thing. believe it or not, there are fans of these series, they like to see the trailers. and if its in HD on your TV for no extra cost, then all the better!
3) gamer pics. who doesn't like choice? these themes and picture packs just offer you more choice, for free. what is wrong with that?

Honestly. Major, like i said, i think its time borrow Bungie's Ban-Hammer and start swinging round here.

Wow, advertising, and it's FREE? Seriously though, I loathe the whole "videogame trailers! they're free!" stuff. Trailers/demos = advertising. I'm not saying I don't like them, but that's what they are. They exist to sell games. They are advertising. Giving them out for free isn't anything special.

Would anyone actually pay extra on their cable/sat bill for the privilege of watching commercials? I kind of doubt it.

I don't want to act like I don't think there's too much crap in certain areas of the marketplace right now. I've said before that unless it's free, I'm not downloading themes or gamerpics, with very rare exceptions, because the themes are predominantly crap (too dark, can't even read text on screen), and there are plenty of free gamerpics (I subscribe to OXM, and don't mind spending a half hour unlocking them by watching trailers and so forth).

What I'd really like to see is a way to sort content like gamerpics by their price. All the free stuff at the top of the list :D

Do you really want to lock yourself out of free stuff though, or would you, like me, prefer that all of EA's avelanche of themes and pics be banished to some far off folder?

Euro release dates do suck. Just picked up Blood Money tonight, so that should keep me busy for a while. Also, I want to play more Call of Duty 2 and FarCry and I still haven't wrapped up the main quest in Oblivion (was taking a vacation from it, may finish that up this weekend). I also just recently got Table Tennis and haven't even unwrapped it yet.

I have to say, my dancecard is full up, and I have a lot of achievements yet to earn.

Chromehounds is probably the next new game that I'll buy, assuming it doesn't get very bad reviews. BFME looks awesome, but I don't buy EA games. Though I may soon soften that to, "I won't buy EA games except used at Gamestop, whence I shall return them within 7 days, thus having paid no money."

Seriously, your GameStop store is a source of free 7 day rentals with a 35 dollar deposit. Think about that.

If I'm not mistaken I read somewhere that Volition has given a Demo of Saint's Row for Microsoft to approve and put on the marketplace since before E3, I'd Really Like to get some game DEMO's or XBL arcade games to take the time till something good comes to the Xbox 360, and that would be Chromehounds OR Prey....NEXT month, or that's what I think the release date's are in europe. and there's actually NOTHING else coming till then, and THAT sucks.

Oh crap! Here comes J. Goodwin with his well thought out statements again. ;p

You make a great point that the revenue generated from Silver members potentially viewing the content is good. But perhaps then they should make this content for silver members only with the options for gold members to have it? I personally don't want to have to sort through it while I'm paying for a gaming service(not a bookstore to use your analogy).

When is it too much? When it gets to the point that you have to sort through 10 pages of Nacho Libre trailers, Entourage previews and X-Men commercials just to get to the game content. Oh wait, that's already happening now..
