You can't earn achievements for the demos. You have to buy the full-version of the game to earn achievements.

Anyone know how to get achievements for live arcade demos? The reason I ask this is because in the "Games Played" section of my gamercard it lists all the arcade demos I've played. It also has penalized me 200 possible points each. I own 6 games total and should have a possible score of 3400 (1 game is Quake 2 which doesn't get points). Instead it says I have played 12 games with a possible score of 4600. I want to try and get every possible point, but because I played demos that I don't want to buy I will never be able to get all the possible points.

MJ, thanks for the mention man, BIG THANKS! I never knew my obsession with achievements and one little idea could blow up so quickly. no crap... just because our getto cities get so much attention doesn't mean all of america looks like Harlem... besides I live an average life in an average town with a average mean income... and it's pretty nice out here with the exception of a few meth heads... but those fools are everywhere now

Agreed. Normally, I NEVER do games at the hardest level. The Achievement system changed all that. I am now playing through COD2 on Veteran level. It's hard as **** at points, but it really gives you a sense of accomplishment when you complete a mission, and the same will happen to a larger degree once I'm completely done.

Whomever came up with the Achievements idea needs a promotion AND a raise.

I must say, Major, that the Achievements system is brilliant. Usually I'd finish a game and rarely go back to it, especially certain gametypes. But with Achievements I am constantly replaying games to try and unlock a new achievement. For that matter, the Leaderboards also do the same thing. Trying to improve your standing is addicting.

A question I have, though, is if you can add Achievements at a later time? Like, if there's new DC for PDZ, for example, could they add achievements to go along with it? Or, like someone above mentioned, could there be new achievements added to XBL Arcarde games even if the game itself isn't updated?

I find that also strange some of the achievements in arcade games are extremly hard to get and the reward is little. And I also think they should better balans the games for getting the achievements because in some Xbox 360 games it's very easy to get a lot of achievement and in some Xbox 360 games it's ridicileus hard..But never the less I really like the achievements
